the wind ran in my hair as i hopped on the empty step, waiting for mommy to pick me up in her red truck.
dandelions flew towards the direction of the wind as it spreaded in bunches.
was it the strong wind that blew them to school?
i hopped onto the ground from the steps and followed the little dancing dandelions, to the source. to find the culprit!
walking swiftly, i clasped my backpack tightly and peeked at the empty playground.
empty.
no, there's a plump boy squatting on the ground, blowing the dandelions and watching them fly into a distance. his dimpled smile plastered across his face as he continued blowing those white furry things.
he... looks like me! finally! i can make a friend!
skipping towards the boy, his eyes shot up in shock, he ran under the pirate ship slide and hid. knocking his head in the process, snorting a little, i shook my head and bent down.
"sorry for scaring you! i just want to be friends with you, you don't have to hide!" I held my hand out to help him out of the small space.
he took a closer look at me and reluctantly held his hand out for me to pull him out.
the boy hits his head in the process and yelps out in pain, his hand reached up to his head as he rubbed it. stifling a soft giggle, my hands reached out and rubbed his head slowly "you're new to our school right?"
he looked at me and replied slowly, "yes.."
shaking his hand, i flashed a smile at the boy "my name is eunice! nice to meet you!"
"my name is jay. ko-ri-en name jung jaehyun." he said slowly, a thick foriegn accent hugged his voice as he continued "you are , korean?"
oh? he is korean! like me!
"you should've told me earlier! i'm korean too!" jay's eyes lit up as his dimpled smile flashed across his face "my korean name is park somin!" i chuckled
he smiled at my native language and heaved a sigh of relief "oh! you've scared me! i thought you could not speak korean!"
"well, you did not tell me that you're korean silly."
jay flashed another dimpled smile as mommy's voice sounded from a distance.
