Travis
I arrived on campus at 7:37 feeling good about myself and the new year. I was excited not only because I was going to be a senior this year but also because college was right at the door and I was finally getting out of high school with all it's restrictions and requirements. College was going to be a whole lot different and I just couldn't wait for the next adventure of my life. I sat in my car thinking about all the things I would do this year. All the girls I'm gonna be fooling around with, cuz you know, I never date. All the late parties my buddies and I are gonna be attending and even hosting. My friends mostly like to host parties at my house since I have a pool, but most of all, I had to put myself together. This year, I'm going to have to pay more attention to my lesson and make better grades for college atleast. I got distracted from my thoughts when I saw a hot beauty with caramel color and a dark brown curly hair held up in ponytail stopping her on her neck. She wore gray hoodie with black jeans that had cuts on the thighs and knees exposing an even lighter caramel color and a black sneakers. Although she was turned on the side, I could see her curves even though the hoodie was free. Or maybe I just imagined it? Wow. So I'm imagining things now? Her head was buried in her phone and she never looked up until a boy about 18 or 19 walked up to her, said something and put his arms around her. She giggled slightly at whatever he said giving him a playful punch in the stomach with her free hand as they walked off. She looked about 5'4 tall while the boy looked about 6'4 tall. I didn't take my eyes off her until they were out of my sight feeling a pang of jealousy and wishing I was the boy instead. "Damn." I said quietly. "Who is she? Is she even real? I doubt it." I didn't want to believe I had just stared at a girl, correction an angel and not at least go and introduce myself. I've never been the wishing type. I see it, I like, I want it, I got it. That was all me. One look of interest, and I'm after her. But I just couldn't get myself to go to her. She had an air of distinction around her. This time, I was going to wait and observe first. "Okay enough." I said shaking my head to come back to reality. "Gotta my a** outta here now before the sky starts raining angels that I won't be able to handle." I took one last look at the rearview mirror and I decided to comb my hair. I took my comb and out of the compartment in my car and combed and sprayed myself before getting out. Good thing I always carried these in my car for emergencies like these. I took my backpack from the backseat of my car and looked it. "Yo Travis my Mann!!!" A voice shouted from behind me as I was about to turn around. It was Jason. My best friend. We shared our friendship handshake and hugged for few seconds. "S'up man how's life been going so far?" I said. "Lit bro. Did you hear bout the new girl we gon be having this year?" "What new girl?" "Man... You missed a lottt! Gotta put you back on track. Well about that new girl, I haven't met her yet but heard she's hot." As he was talking, my mind went back to the girl in front of my car. She might be the one. I thought. Knowing Jason, he'll probably want to hook up with her so I called dibs as we went in. "Any way man... How was Paris?" He asked. " Oh... Paris was cool. I had fun, got laid with let's say... About 10 girls? Ion know really. But it was really fun." "Whoaaa... 10 girls! Man that's what I'm talking about man... I would've been surprised if you didn't anyway." He said shaking my hand. "Ehh..." I said shrugging. "Let's go in man that shit's about to start." I told him as I opened the door to the auditorium.
...
The school's auditorium was crowded with students and the principal Mr. Ray Rhyson had just gotten through with his speech and the Dean of students Mr. Jake Myers came to take his place on the stage. "Good morning students."He said with energy. That's the thing about him, he always had so much energy. "Good morning..." The students replied with grumpiness. "Well come on now kids, don't get grumpy on me now." "Good morning Mr. Myers!!!!" The students said with more zeal. "Now that's better." Then he went on and on talking about how great the year's gonna be, what all the school's added or subtracted... Blah blah blah... So boring. I have no idea why I even came this morning. I started to wonder off when all of a sudden, Mr. Myers called out to a student snapping me out of my day dream. "Hey there young lady..." He said. It was the same angel I saw in front of my car that morning. Turns out, she was real and she was in my school. She didn't realize Mr. Myers' calling her since her head was buried in her phone until the boy sitting beside her nudged her. He was the same boy that was with her earlier. "What's your name?" He asked. "Ummm... Paige..." She said sounding nervous in a very attractive and sweet voice that made my stomach gave a little flip. "Well Paige, do you have a last name?" "Yeah well... Uhh... It's Starling. Paige Starling." Paige Starling. I repeated it in my head. What a beautiful name. It definitely matches her. I thought. "Ok Ms. Starling I guess you're new here. I have a rule that when I'm speaking, no one, absolutely no one speaks or do something else order than listen to me. Am l clear?" "Sure" she said as she held her phone up so he could see the screen go blank. That was harsh. I thought. Man he really should chill at times you know...
