Today was the day that I was going to be shopping for wedding dresses. The rest of the girls from Made from Scratch had booked a flight last night to fly into Sydney as well as my best friend since birth had drove down from Melbourne. I was in the guest bathroom getting ready when Michael came in.
"Hey babe." He kissed my head. "Are you nervous?"
"I mean a little. I want to find not just any dress. I want to find the dress. Who knew that picking out a wedding dress was so stressful." I put down the makeup brush that I was holding and looked at Michael. "Are you going to go tuxedo shopping today or are you going to do something else with your dad?"
"I'm going tuxedo shopping with him. Adam from middle school may join. He hasn't texted me saying if he is or not."
"You haven't seen Adam in a while. When was the last time you hung out?" I put down my makeup and started to pack it up.
"Maybe five years. It's been awhile though." Michael's phone dinged and he looked down. "Looks like Adam's coming after all. Sweet."
"Well have a good time with picking out a tux. I'm gonna get changed then the girls should be arriving soon so then your mom, the girls and I can drive to the shop."
        "Ok have fun."
        "Thanks Michael, you too."
He kissed me on the lips and I left to go get changed. I changed into simple black jeans and a Metallica top that complimented the half sleeve tattoos on my arms. The doorbell then rang as I went to open it, quickly putting my hair into a loose ponytail.
"Hey girls nice to see you!" I hugged my band members as my childhood friend emerged from the back of the group. "Jenny! Oh my gosh, it's so nice to see you." I hugged her tightly as we lightly swayed.
"Are you excited to go dress shopping Y/N?" Nicole, the bass player asked.
"Yes definitely, I am a little nervous though." I said closing the front door behind them. "Karen should be done getting ready soon. I'll go check. Also Michael and his dad are still here so don't be surprised if they pop up." We all laughed a little and I went to go find Karen.
I went into their bathroom to see her just finishing up her hair.
"I'm almost ready darling. I just have to get this knot out of my hair. You go hang out with the ladies in the living room." She smiled
I went back to the living room to wait. The girls and I talked back and fourth before Karen came out to where we were.
"Alright ladies. Are we all read to go?" Karen grabbed her purse.
We nodded and left to head to the shop. We all got out of the car and headed inside.
"Hi there. Do you have an appointment?" The desk clerk asked.
"Yes under Y/L/N." I took off my sunglasses.
"Oh ok. Right here. Please take a seat and I'll grab the consultant." She smiled and headed to the back.
The six of us were just talking at a low volume when the consultant and a younger looking girl came over to us.
"Hi there ladies I'm Karrie, and this is Nora. She's a consultant in training, so please don't mind her, she'll be watching me. So I'll be your consultant for today. Who's the lucky bride?"
I raised my hand as the two of us hugged.
"Congrats and who do you have with you today?" Karrie smiled.
"Well I have my future mother-in-law, my maid of honour Jenny, then my three bridesmaids, Nicole, Shanelle and Lisa. Whore also my band members. I smiled back as the girls stood up.
"Ok, now what about the price range for the dress?" Nora asked.
"Well I was thinking, maybe around five thousand, six thousand."
"Alright, lets go then." Karrie said happily.
Karrie and Nora shook everyone's hands then we all went into the back where all the dresses were. Nora had Karen, Jenny and my band members sit down as she asked them questions about how they knew me, but also she was a fan of Made from Scratch. Karrie took me into a smaller fitting room where I'd try on the dresses.
"Alright, so tell me a little bit about yourself and the wedding."
"Well I'm engaged to Michael Clifford who happens to be the lead guitarist of five seconds of summer, we've been friends since preschool. We're getting married in a church and we're both in punk pop bands. He's made me a better person and vice versa. I couldn't imagine my life without him."
"That's sweet. So first things first; what style of dress are you thinking of?"
"Maybe a princess styled gown. I do want to try black as a colour. I also do want to try a mermaid cut since I do like the style of the dress. I would also like lace, but not a ton of sparkles or beading. It would be fine to just have the beading on the torso but not anywhere else. I do want to show off my tattoos, so maybe a dress that's strapless."
"Alright, so I'll go get Nora and the two of us will go pick out some dresses. You stay here and put the robe on."
Karrie left the room as I changed into the silky robe. A few minutes later Karrie and Nora came into the room with a few dresses.
"Do you like anyone of these? Which one pops out to you the most?" Nora asked, putting her hands across the dresses.
"Could I try the black one on first?"
"Sure." Karrie took the dress out and I stepped into it.
