I'd sung that song so many times,
That told the story of endless love.
But out of nowhere, it went off-key.
It played the melody of regret, sorrow and grief.
I'd tasted its nectar -
The sweetness of happiness!
Yet, it all turned sour.
It only left the bitter taste of betrayal!
I'd seen the twinkle of joy in those eyes
And that knowing radiant smile.
But, the beautiful scene turned into an ugly picture!
My memory had it all captured.
The sweet nothings had turned into curses
So, I hailed goodbye with the hard slamming of the door.
My heart's lock was secured.
NEVER AGAIN, that I swore!
