Personality:
Chen is always a follower and follows people's lead, hardly opposing them. He's kind and has a soft heart, never wanting bad for anyone. People say he's the one with the most initiative when it comes to welcoming strangers. In EXO, he's close to Baekhyun and Chanyeol but is often seen alone; deep in thought.
Chen grew up in the Royal Theatre, coming from a family of singers, actors, and entertainers. He grew up singing and performing in the theatre, basking in the aura of music and sounds. He is said to have an amazing voice and always dreamed of traveling around the whole of Exodus to perform with his parents. He was close with his parents and those who performed with him, including his big family of uncles; aunts; and cousins.
However, one fine day when there was a storm, Chen and his cousin were making props for the next musical they were performing when his cousin climbed a ladder to paint the moon. Suddenly, thunderstruck and the sound of the thunder caught his cousin by surprise, his cousin falling off the ladder. Chen who witnessed it, was too far to help his cousin but with a scream, he lifted a hand and electricity shot out of his fingertips towards his cousin. A web of electricity shot towards his cousin, electrocuting him on the spot. His cousin passed away and when they found Chen, he had fainted at the back of the theatre. Ridden with guilt, Chen packed his bags and went off to SM, scared that his powers will develop into something dangerous. Until now, he has a mental block with his powers and never contacts home.
