I pushed send and my heart started beating fast. I don't even know why, it wasn't like he would respond or even read my message, but I had just poured my heart out to my favorite musician on Instagram, whose username was themightyi. I told him how great his songs were and how I loved him so much. He was in Chile, in the middle of a world tour and I was laying in my bed, in the suburbs of Chicago. It was kind of crazy how easy it was to connect with famous people on social media. I looked through the pictures he had posted on instagram and sighed. He was such a sexy man. None of my friends understood why I liked him so much.  They were all in love with Justin Beiber. They thought Noel was a mean old man, but I knew he wasn't. Sure he was older than me, but after watching a million interviews on YouTube and listening to all of his albums, I knew he was a good guy and I thought he was really funny. I found his accent adorable and I loved his style. The man could rock a leather or denim jacket better than anyone.
I looked through his wife's instagram and sighed. She was so beautiful and so lucky to have Noel. I admit, I sometimes felt jealous of her. She got to buy expensive clothes, travel the world, and kiss those beautiful lips of his. I set my phone down on my nightstand and changed into my pajamas. I walked down the hall to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face then returned to my room and climbed into bed. I picked up my phone and saw I had a instagram notification. I opened it and almost screamed. I had a message from themightyi. It said:

"Well what's not to like, eh?"

He had read my message and not only that, he had replied! I could not believe it. I grinned and stared at my phone. I was too excited to sleep so I watched some videos of Noel on YouTube until around 2 am then finally fell asleep.

A couple weeks later, I commented on one of his instagram pictures and to my surprise, he liked my comment a second later! I ran downstairs and showed my mom, who just looked at me like I had lost my mind. I went back up to my room and decided to send him another message.

"You probably won't read this, but I love you so much and you are so sexy. I wish I could see you next month in Detroit."

A minute later he replied.

"I can get you in, I know the singer."

I stared at my phone in disbelief.

"Oh my God. Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"Thank you so much, I will be there!"

He replied, "No worries."

I couldn't believe it. We just had an actual conversation. I stared at my phone for a minute then I went back downstairs and sat by my mom on the couch.

"Guess what? I kinda just won tickets to a concert next month in Detroit, can I go?"
"That's like a 5 hour drive." My mom glanced at me then went back to watching tv.
"So. I can drive."
"Honey, I'm not letting you drive 5 hours alone to Detroit just for a concert."
"Mom, it's not just a concert, this is Noel Gallagher. My favorite songwriter of all time. Plus it's on a Friday."
"I don't know, I'll think about it."
"Ok."
I went back up to my room and listened to some music while I painted my nails.

A couple days later, I sent Noel a message.

"Thanks again, I can't believe you are doing that for me."

He replied a minute later.

"How could I not help a beautiful girl like you, Kayla"

I was in shock. He just called me beautiful and he knew my name? Had he looked at my Instagram? I sent him a message.

"You looked at my pictures?"

"Maybe 1 or 2. Fuck all to do on the road."

"It must get boring."

"Yes it does, but then beautiful birds like you make it worth it."

I smiled to myself. Was he flirting with me?

"Thanks."

Over the next few weeks, we talked on Instagram a couple times per week. It was only ever a few short messages, but I could not believe I was actually talking to him. One night, I was laying in bed and I liked his latest post and he sent me a message.

"Are you going to like all my fuckin' posts?"

I smiled and replied.
"Of course!"

"You've not got anything better to do?"

"No, you are pretty much my only source of entertainment these days."

"Have you not got a boyfriend?"

"Nope, just you."

"Are you flirtin' with me?"

"Maybe..."

"You're a cool girl."

"You're pretty cool yourself."

"What can I say?"

I looked at his wife's instagram and saw she had posted a picture of her and him and he had liked it.

"Does your wife know that you flirt with your fans on instagram?"

"No, and I only flirt with you on instagram."

I smiled and bit my lip. How was this happening to me?

"Does it get lonely on tour?"

"Yeah sometimes."

I don't know why, but without even thinking, I sent:
"So you must watch a lot of porn."

"I beg your pardon?"

"So I take it that's a yes?"

"I'm not admitting to anything."

"Well if you ever want some live dirty talk, you know how to reach me."

I waited for his reply, but he never did so I set my phone down and closed my eyes. He probably thought I was pathetic and had no life. Which was kind of true, but it wasn't my fault my mom had moved us from California to Illinois the week after I graduated high school and I had no friends here. I was starting college in August and hoped to meet some new friends there. All of my friends from California basically stopped talking to me after the move. I guess they were too busy going to the beach and having fun. My dad left my mom last year and she had wanted a "fresh start" somewhere. I wasn't even that sad about my dad leaving though because we were never close and honestly, I don't even miss him.
