-"Hey Pipes!" The tall boy came bounding over to his best friend, he looked down at her only to think about how beautiful she was, and how he wish he could call her his, but as much as it pained him, he knew deep down that it could never be.
The brunette looked up at Finn, staring into his eyes, his eyes like a perfect spring day, his mind clear and his smile warmer then the gentle sun. Yet, it wasn't the fact that his eyes were the same colour as the bluebells, recently bloomed in the valley, it was what lied beneath them, they held so much warmth and love.
For a split second she found her self reminiscing when he first walked in the studio and how much joy he radiated. She then found herself replaying the amazing memories they shared, and even when it felt the world had turned its back on her, he was there, with his arms stretched open wide ready to give her the hug she needed. And despite all the heaviness in her stomach, it still managed to flutter at the feeling of his hands on her shoulders.
"So," he continued, "as its nearly our 1 year 'friendiversary' i was thinking we should do something?" Piper was taken back, had it really been a year since she had met her life long best friend? The memories all came flooding back, each one different, special in there own way. "Ok then, what do you have in mind?" she replied to the blonde's remark, looking up at him. "Well, we could go on a golf cart ride round the area?" He didn't like to admit it, but had been thinking of this date idea the second he laid his eyes on her, truth be told, he often dreamt about falling in love, not just with anyone, with her. Yet, he knew she wasn't ready to date, however, he would still wait 100 years for her.
"wow, you've really thought that one out, haven't you?"
"well, yes, i want it to be special!"
Piper was so shocked to see her best friend put so much effort into something, she must really mean a lot to him.
"so your down?"
"yes, ok then"
"pick you up at 7"
"yes, dont be late this time!"
She watched her best friend almost skip off, out the small cafe. They'd been on many friend dates to the movies and to the arcade. However Piper couldn't help but think this one was different. She got up from the chair and left the tea room she had previously been sitting in, as she'd sat there for so long thinking about what to wear, the tea scented aroma started to hurt her head. Piper walked along side the main road, only to think about the cars, everyone was going somewhere, they all had different tales to tell. She walked past a steak-house and caught sight of a family enjoying their dinner, sat by the window. The mother was feeding her daughter, who Piper assumed wasn't much older than 18 months. Even though the mother was trying to feed her daughter who did not want to sit still, she continued to talk to her husband, Piper couldn't help but think how in loved they looked. They were perfect together.
Beside the steak-house, was a gas station. Once again, she found herself looking through the window, this time, at a younger couple. They were laughing together, it was the type of love that looked so pure. Piper could just tell how they fit together like a jigsaw, their laughter was like ripples in a pond after a stone had been thrown in. It was infectious. She caught sight of the boy dancing round the girl, for a second, before the girl playfully hit his arm. The boy continued to scoop the girl up and spin her round the isle. It reminded Piper of her and Finn.
She continued her journey home, could she see a future with Finn? She quickly shook of the ludicrous idea of her falling for him. As she walked, her hair fluttered in the light wind, she then paused to close her eyes to intake a breath of the crisp air, she began to think of her future. A future that she would mould and build, build from the ground up, regardless whether Finn was in it. She was a girl walking to her destiny, a destiny that she could create.
