-The two best friends danced and danced. Even though there was no music, they were so caught up in the moment to even care. The tall boy picked up his short best friend and spun her around into a hug, His embrace was warm and his big, strong arms wrapped around her frail body. The world around Piper felt as though it melted away, she squeezed him back, not wanting the moment to end.
The pair pulled apart, and smiled. It was almost that they had forgotten they were stuck, in the pouring rain, but honestly, they didn't care.
"You know theres worst people i could be stuck here with, i mean theres also better," the brunette told Finn.
"Really, whos better then me?"
"Well, Bear Grylls or Harry Styles, have you seen that man?" Piper laughed, her laugh was contagious so Finn couldn't help but laugh with her.She turned away from Finn to look over the mountainous views, she stood in awe, it was places like this that just fascinated her. There was a strange sense of comfort of the rollings hills, which made Piper fall in love with nature even more.
"You know only an idiot like you can get us stuck in the most beautiful of places" She said turning to look at Finn, who was now sitting beside her.
"I am pretty great aren't i?"
she let out a small giggle, before turning to look back at the fields. They didn't speak to each other, they just sat taking it all in. How did they both end up this lucky?Piper broke the silence, "Everyone will be moving on this year, over my time at The Next Step I've seen many people come and go, when will our time come?"
"honestly pipes, i dont know" Finn didnt really know what he wanted for his future, all he did know is he wanted Piper to be apart of it.
For Piper it felt like everyone's opportunities came to them, when will hers come?Piper thought for a second turning to look back over the mountains, before facing Finn once more.
"What if we have to go chase that opportunity ourselves? I know it sounds crazy, but we can't just sit around and hope an opportunity will come knocking at the door, we have to create it. Build an empire from the ground up."
Finn was so shocked by what the girl had just told him, but she had a point, they did have to built the future he wanted. What his grandma would have wanted for him.
"Are you saying we should leave TNS?"
"No, no, not yet anyway." Piper always knew she would outgrow the next step at some point, but was she ready?Piper decided to lay down on the wet, rocky surface, the rain hitting her face. Finn soon followed, lying down next to her, their faces inches away. They could only hear the sound of the rain hitting the roof of the golf cart, they had soon forgotten about. Finn turned to look up at the sky, he recognised one constellation in particular, Altair and Vega, he once learned about the old folk tale of the weaver girl and the cow herder who fell in love. Like how he had fallen in love with Piper.
Piper was also sucked deep into her thoughts, how perfect the night had been, how special, how different. It was really like something out of a movie. She cast her mind back to what Lily had said: and when the world is against you and it feels like all your walls start to crumble and you feel alone, they are there, with you to help you pick up the pieces.
Finn had been there to help pick up the pieces, when her anxiety really took over her last year. He was there. With his song. And it would brighten up her day. Then, it hit her. She had fallen in love with her best friend. She had fallen in love with Finn. Lily was right, it was the best feeling in the world.
