The human widened his stance and adjusted his grip on his sword handle. "Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners..." The man prayed.

Three Claws paused, head tilted to one side, as his mandibles clicked in an attempt to mimic the human's words. "Mary...Mother...of God..." The primitive words rumbled from deep within Three Claws' massive chest.

The human's eyes grew wider and he took a single, faltering step back. The wind shifted, blowing the clouds away from the full moon hanging in the night sky. Everything seemed to take on a silvery hue. The fresh snowfall glistened like thousands of discarded diamonds.

The human turned and looked up into the silver moonlight...

...and...

...he laughed.

Three Claws clicked in amusement. He'd seen humans driven mad with fear in the course of a Hunt but, after watching this one best three other humans in single combat, Three Claws had thought his prey was made of sterner stuff. The hunter gave a slight shrug, still...some humans grew incredibly strong and continued to fight despite being gripped by terror. This Hunt could still prove entertaining.
