I'm sorry if this chapter took a long time to post. The editing took longer than I expected. Aside from the editing i was going to post this 2 days early but i had to go back and add a little something. This chapter wouldn't be complete without it;).

               🌸

It has been 2 years since the incident; I have been transferred to the Modern crime prevention task force. It's not a bad job, it's just… I feel like I don't go enough. I began to do over time to finish the most cases I can possibly do in hopes to  redeem myself.

I recently got a new partner. The same guy that almost killed a mother and her child and let me fall off a bridge, Daisuke Kambe. Let's just say we're not friends; I can barely tolerate Daisuke. But I have to admit it's nice to have some company around the office.

"Kato and Kambe I have new information  on the case you're working on." Daisuke and I went to the chief's desk to pick the information.

Daisuke takes the folder from the chief and begins to read it. "This doesn't add up if a robber would steal. Why would he only target businesses around  where there's the most criminal activity?" I look over to face daisuke.

I hate to aimited it would make more sense to target business calmer areas. This robber is only robbing businesses that are knowen for having high security due to the area there're located.

"I agree with daisuke out of all the business you can steal from why these ones? Sure they're making good profit but it's nothing out of the ordinary."

I couldn't stop asking myself these businesses? Why do you have to steal? And why in the areas where the most infamous crimes took place? There has to be a bigger reason behind it.

Daisuke and I walk back to our desk to try to crack this down. Daisuke pulls out a map of Tokyo, the places that have been targeted have been circled in red.

"Ok since we know the robber only targeted these areas." I said while my fingers pointed to the circled areas.

"We also know this robber or robbers left as little evidence as little evidence as possible. The possibility of an inside job isn't too far fetched." Daisuke said as he studied all the evidence we were given.

The evidence wasnt alot;we got pictures from the crime  scene, laboratory test results and a few bullet shells. I grabbed one of the pictures. i don't remmenber the chief giving us this one and it's not the information we just got either.

I tried my best to hide my surprise and confusion in hopes daisuke won't notice. Daisuke is now staring at me, not breaking eye contact. 'Shit did he notice, how am i going to explain this to daisuke if he questions me about it.'  I began to panic, I didn't have an excuse ready.

I could feel the sweet going down my face. I looked away from him, I could still feel his gaze on me. I tried to calm myself down, I took off my jacket in hopes to cool down my body temperature. It helped a little but not a lot, reading my sleeves right now is a big no no.

I look back at the picture back at the 4th business that reported a robbery, Harry Winston jewelry store*. The glass on the windows was broken and the glass on the door was cracked but it still held together. The robber took 75 million yen  (611,000 usd) worth of jewelry. I found it odd how a well known and respected brand would place a store in a high criminal activity area. It was inevitable that the Store would be robbed. But yet they manage to remain robbery free until 3 weeks ago.
