" Lilian you're gonna be late for school" mom half yelled from the kitchen

I pretended like I didn't hear her

Then I opened my eyes again glancing at the clock it was almost 9am immediately I flew out of bed and rushed into the bathroom

I'm Lilian brooks a final year high school student and I live with my mother

I don't know anything about my dad I've never seen him before

Mama said he absconded when I was a baby

I dressed up and went into the sitting room mom was in the kitchen cleaning up

She already made mouth watering pancakes

Mom I'm off to school already

" pick five pieces of pancakes and take the ten dollar note under the shelf "

I picked five but I was tempted to pick more smiling to myself I looked round and picked eleven only to meet mom looking at me from the door way with her hands across the hips

" I told you to pick five and you picked more that's you lunch and dinner for today silly kid "

I smiled and kissed her on the cheek

" bye mom "

" don't you stay late young lady or else you'll get a serious spanking from me " mom said wagging a finger at me

I smiled as I ran out in a hurry to catch the taxi

The taxi pulled up at lake side high school as I got down I almost collided with my best friend Amy Brandon

I was about replying when the school went agog with noise

It was Alexander Lopez the richest and the most handsome dude in the school

Students go crazy at the sight of him even female teachers drool and ogle at him male teachers feel intimidated by him

To cut it short he's described as a mini god

He has numerous girlfriends and dumps like trash

But that doesn't stop me from crushing on him

Crazy right???

Most times I wish to be his girlfriend even if it's for a day but he never spares me a glance obviously because I'm poor and don't fit into his category of girls

Amy left for the principal's office while I headed to the locker room to pick some stuffs

I heard a sound

That voice sounded like miss Renee the history teacher

I went to history class with puffy eyes

Throughout the class I didn't concentrate I kept stealing glances at Xander

I looked at him again for the umpteenth time and his best friend Ian saw me

He whispered something into xander's ears then he turned to look at me

Then he winked at me

OMG my cheeks became red

" miss brooks I asked you a question "

I raised up my head to meet miss Renee's eyes as she glared at me with pure anger written on her face

" ma'am I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention "

" see me during detention class and you Xander see me as soon as this class is over "

I groaned angrily she must have seen Xander making passes at me
