Michael ended up accepting Lara's presence in the house. Their greetings usually consisted of a knife being thrown in one of Lara's body parts or a staredown that would last until someone either moved or attended to something else. "Okay big guy, now we can finally start patching up this place!" Lara says with a bit of enthusiasm as Michael carries big slabs of wood, placing it on the fern green grass. It was a hot day today, the blazing sun coming down upon them like an angry god making Lara sweat abundantly. "Aren't you hot?" She asks, questioning his usual attire which consisted of blue coveralls and the iconic white mask. With a head shake she goes back in the old house and brings out a calamansi drink. God knows she can't make anything with those disaster making hands, so the portal just dumps stuff in the kitchen.
"Still, you should have this. Take it as a thank you for the hard work and not killing me that often as before." Lara says giving the drink to Michael, him just staring back at her as usual. She goes back inside the house to paint the walls, but she can't reach the top even if she jumped. Then something under her grabs her legs, in response she screams, shaking the brush in her hand dropping small paint drops on the person. Once she was sitting on the assailant's shoulders, she looked down to see Michael who was still as stoic as ever. When she first arrived Michael just kept killing her before realizing she's technically immortal by default, then he would leave her in the house for days still being greeted with a warm smile upon his return, and then finally tolerating each other to fix the raggedy house. This thought made Lara swell up with hope on the inside, she was making good progress with a well-known serial killer. Like who else can say they're tolerated by the Halloween icon, Michael Myers?
For that, she's proud of, but she must focus on the task at hand. Telling the man left or right when she wanted to paint a certain crevice. She finally finished her brush work in due time, but before she got off she had to thank him."Thank you for helping me". With this, Michael came to a realization. His dead, cold heart made a soft spot for the girl, the voice in his head wasn't as frequent as before since he killed Laurie so the curse must have been lifted. Dropping Lara, he makes a B line to the door leaving the poor confused girl drenched in paint splatters on the floor.
"Bruh, that was just rude!" Lara comments as she shakes the paint off her, and to think she thought she was making good progress. She huffed as she got up to put the paint supplies away, and look outside. She was met with the glass she gave to Michael, picking it up, she goes back inside washing it. Michael was watching her from a distance, an emotion he has never felt before, well has he ever felt any emotion, wells up inside him. He feels sad? Guilty? Both?
He wasn't really keen on emotions in general. He just decides to leave the girl alone to figure himself out. Lara, after finishing washing, takes a bath to forget about the previous events. While there she can't help but wonder where did the masked man go off to this time, it's not like he can just go anywhere, he is a wanted criminal on the run. A bright flash blinds the girl as the room seems to twirl. As she opened one eye, the room was brand new like it was just made. She shrugged it off thinking it was the damn portal doing some shady shit.
Finishing up and changing to a regular T-shirt and pant pyjamas, she examines the house creeping down the stairs. The two-story house was lavish, she looked at it in awe, the place was cozy and everything was the way it was before like she just traveled in a time machine. Thinking about that theory she looked around for a tiny Michael, but nothing came up which kinda disappointed the young female. With some hesititance she makes her way to grab the tv remote. With some thinking she believed that it can transport her back into the real world, with that reasoning she pressed the on button. She was faced with gruesome imagery of her friends corpses as she changed channels. Camille looked blue, there was no sign of any wound but her body seemed to show signs of a poisoning.
Frances was dressed as a lolita fashioned doll completed with a porcelain mask as her whole torso was cut open, her intestines hanging up on the ceiling imitating a grotesque puppet display. Jenny had a black hare mask covering her face, a taxidermy of an elk pierces through her chest, the horns poking out of her back with blood pouring from it. Kaila had not one, but several pickaxes piercing her body, hanging her on a wall like a pinned butterfly. Zway was sawed in half, her mouth was sewn shut with some kind of meat pouring out from the seams. Jan was alive, but as an aggressive zombie swinging at the screen, scaring Lara. Kennedy was split in the middle with some wounds indicating she was swiped at like a tree for slashing practice before ending her. Shayna and Kini had there neck and entire torso sliced open like how you would gut a fish, showing no organs until the tv pans into a bowl with their guts in it.
Rosie briefly showed up with just her face crossed out with a red x mark before Jessica was shown next. Jessica was an actual doll, leather pants and all, pleading at the screen to help her even pounding on it with her fists. Sera had knife slashes along her entire body with the words "FK" on her clavicle carved in deep. Emilynn being the last shown with a telephone cord wrapped tightly around her neck before the screen shows someone else. A figure with a black and white tv static skin and eyes resembling a rainbow static screen laughs at her in a distorted voice, the laugh echoing throughout the empty house before shutting off abrupty. Lara, scared shitless at what she's seen, throws the remote at the tv creating a crack. She stomps back upstairs to sleep in one of the rooms. Getting in the bed and making herself comfortable, she tried to brush off the scary imagery burned into her head.
In short, the girl didn't sleep thinking that she was next. The sun shows up telling her to get up, albiet a bit groggily. Making her way downstairs, she is greeted with cereal and milk which she eats slowly. The front door opens, causing Lara to flinch and hide under the table until Michael makes his way towards her. Bending, he puts out his hand to gently pat her head, even though it was more animatronic than human. Lara taken back by surprise just looks at him, until he steps back and gives her a hand to stand up. Taking the hand she gets up until Michael grabs her face roughly with both of his hands.
Her eyes widen as he brushes his thumbs against her blackened eye bags. Seeing this she replies with, "I didn't get much sleep yesterday, nothing to worry about." With a sense of comfort she thought maybe the horrible things she's seen won't happen if he's around. Michael let's go of her, leaving Lara to rub it. He looks around the house until he makes his way upstairs, Lara's voice stops him, "Why do you keep avoiding me?". Michael stops, then turns to walk in the direction of the girl. He grabs her throat gently, lifting his mask to show his lips.
Lara's hands block her mouth before he can have any chance to kiss her. A low growl is made before a pair of lips come into contact with her forehead instead. Michael then pushes her away, pulling his mask down to go upstairs. This action made Lara a flustering mess, maybe her progress with him was more than she thought? She just decided to leave at that so she can finish her cereal that's probably soggy by now.
