Squinting my eyes a little bit, as we waited patiently for the cab to approach.

Taking a discreet look back towards the girl, who was leaning up against the brick building looking around  the place nervously. She was probably curious as to where I was taking her.

"Say, have you ever been to New York?" I  genuinely asked as I proceeded to slip an arm around her shoulder, slowly. The girl surprisingly did not flinch, instead, she slowly looked up towards me, not quite sure of my intent I'm assuming.

After a couple of minutes in silence, the girl then looked up catching my eyes. But as soon as she caught my eyes she turned away, looking back down to her feet.

Seeing as how she refused to look anyplace but her feet when we first met, I would have to say we are making some improvement here. Speaking of her feet, I couldn't help but wonder how they were holding up...that is with those cuts and bruises that is.

"Yes Sir," she replied looking at the cab from down the street, slowly approaching.

"It's Niall, yes Niall."  I said frowning at her reply, after these words left my lips I forced a smile upon my face, attempting to appear more friendly.

She was silent.

"Can you say yes Niall?" As  soon as I said my name, I realized I sounded like Dora.

Although there was nothing wrong with Dora, I didn't want too sound like her.

Say a question, then repeat it back to yourself? Then answer it? I sounded like a baboon.

"So-sorry-Niall." She interrupted my thoughts as she looked back down to her white slippers, who were not dirty yet. And I was thankful for that.

I really needed to get her some proper shoes.

"Yes! See? That's my name ." I stated as the cab pulled up, opening the door, I motioned towards the girl.

"Ladies first," I began smiling, trying to cheer up the mood.

You annoying Niall, you are smiling to much...you gonna creep her out.

My brows furrowed at that thought, and a frown appeared on my face.

She frowned and looked towards the cab.

"Go on, it's okay." I attempted to reassure her.

"Hurry up! I ain't got all day!" The man called out from the driver's seat, which made me frown.

Yet it seemed to do the trick, seeing as how she complied with it taking a seat in the car.

"Thanks...too pansies cafe please?" I asked pulling out my wallet.

"Oh?" The cab driver said looking back at us.

"My daughter works there, good choice." He smiled, pulling outta the drive curve.

"Thank you...How long have you been at this?" I asked trying to be friendly.

"14 years." The old man replied smiling.
