Hosea stared at the card on his hand deliberating if he should sell the idea to Nadia or not. Reflecting on the last meeting he had with Edward Makinde he wanted to believe that the reformation programme will be what is best for Nadia. He knew he had to tell her anyway without really looking as if he was pushing her. After what he witnessed in the midnight he could bet that it was not a one off occurrence, it must have being occurring overtime there is no time frame to stop nightmares but he wanted progress.

There was a lot of layers to Nadia and he wanted them peeled off, even if it wasn’t to him. As he entered the living room he saw her sitting in a lotus position munching on something Hosea assumed was most likely chinchin. she was focused on the cartoon on the TV. He walked immediately into his room after greeting and asking about her day. After eating a slight dinner of cereal he went to join her on the couch by now he felt it was a good time for a reasonable conversation, taking his time to gauge if the situation or mood is right, he switched off the TV using the remote that was placed carelessly on the couch she was now slouching on.
“what’s up with you, were you able to rest well”
““ yeah” Nadia picked up her phone distracted by the message alert on her phone.Hosea snatched the device from her keeping it beside him, way out of her reach. how am I supposed to start this
“ I would like to introduce you to a special programme and before you refuse me, I want you to look critically into what I am about to say to you, I am not about to force you into doing anything that you don’t want to do” placing the business card on her laps.
“I want you to join this program, its for women and I think it may be something you will like, I didn’t want to tell you about it initially because I wasn’t sure if it was what you need, but with what happened overnight I strongly believe that maybe seeing someone may help you better. Nadia carefully studied the card on her laps the name Bright Makinde written on it. She knew the women well enough, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to go through the process.
“ do you think I need help? Can’t I just take a pill and forget about it all, isn’t it possible that I don’t go through this, what if I don’t get what I want”
“ no Nads, you can take a pill or two, drown yourself in a bottle or two but those pains, but you need to be able to sleep better at night, without the need of prescription, you need to be able get a grasp of your life, be happy and stand for yourself and be afraid to open or let someone in. Sleep is a natural thing for humans and for what I can see from your eye bags I can bet that you don’t sleep well at least not enough.”
Nads considered the offer as she stared at the card again hitting the card on her right thumb repeatedly. Hosea picked up the remote flipping through the channels until he stumbled on CNN, with his posture relaxed he tried to catch up on Trumps Impeachment which wasn’t yet finalised.
“ I will do it one condition, you will have to drive me for every appointment” she stood up in front of him trying to block his view.
“ are you trying to negotiate with me as regards what’s good for your health Nads?”
“ not really I am trying to look for a reason not to skip or give an excuse not to want to go especially when I know I will hate the entire programme”
That sounded like a whole lot of extra responsibility which he was willing to take.
“ I can drop you, but I cant promise that will happen every time because at times I may be on call and it may clash.
“ I will take my chances Doc, as far as you can take me on days you aren’t busy”
“ okay then, now can you move away from the TV so I can catch up on what’s going on in the world” Hosea tried to push her away from the view.
“ Nope can’t do, I don’t think its mentally alright to come back from stressful day and watch news about all the bad stuffs happening in the world” she snatched the remote from him and changed the channel back to cartoon. Hosea stared at the TV watching a yellow sponge- like creature chewing something and spitting it right back into a bowl.
“ you should try to watch sponge-bob, he is one of the funniest you can see, plus the good thing about cartoons is that you can relax without not necessarily learning anything or tasking your brain but still entertained”
She seem to consider what she said as making a lot of sense because she rolled her eyes and murmured to herself. you’re good Nads
