Link stared at the other pieces of the triforce with a harsh glare, "I will not continue this loop." He hissed.
Zelda flinched back a bit, and Ganondorf blinked a few times. He could speak?
"You two may not remember, but we've fought and killed eachother, over and fucking over," He gripped his bangs. "Like some sort of sick game."
"...what do you propose then, hero?" Zelda mumbled.
Link tapped the table with his free hand, "Marriage."
Ganondorf did a doubletake, "WHAT!?"
"You heard me, bitch," Link snarled. "I've killed your ass so many times, I've watched your kingdom fall and rise again. You want what's best for the Gerudo, no? A marriage will surely provide that." Link huffed, looking at Zelda. "Hyrule would finally begin an era of true peace."
Both rulers took this into consideration.
"What's in it for you?" Ganondorf pressed.
"Freedom, from all of this fighting," Link sighed. "One life, of no fighting, no danger. Just, peace..."
"....I see."
"Aren't you married to Sidon, though?" Zelda quirked an eyebrow.
"Yeah, and I still will be. Nothing in Hyrule or Zora law prohibits this, I checked. And I've spoken with Sidon." He stood. "Do we have a deal?"
Zelda hesitated, but nodded.
Ganondorf huffed but also nodded in agreement
Link smiled, "Fucking good, cause if you didn't I would've had to kill Ganondorf, and I know Zelda would've thrown a fit over the damn rug."
-
Link found himself in the fairy fountain near the spring of courage.
He waded in the water, taking a deep breath. He didn't want this damned marriage anymore. Everythings better for the gerudo and the hylians. But Link?
He felt unstable, weak, broken. He went deeper into the water and felt himself tearing up.
Ganondorf was possessive, and often time hit Link. Zelda still didn't know, nor would she probably ever know.
Zelda herself was emotionally manipulating him, convincing him that he didn't need to leave the castle unless he was visiting Sidon. He was a glass doll and couldn't be broken.
He felt warm tears rolling down his cheeks as he stared into the murky water.
"Hylia, please just....help me," He whispered, his body trembling the slightest. "I'm scared, I don't....I regret the proposal, I regret agreeing to be this god forsaken hero!"
He moved his hands into his hair and let out a sob.
"I've lost so many people, Hylia. I've lost the ability to be afraid when I see blood. I feel numb."
He shook his head, "I don't know why you want this cycle to keep going still! Why!? Why can't you just stop this!?"
Link looked up, small orbs of light twinkling around the room. He smiled weakly through his tears.
"....I miss Navi," Link softly admitted. "I miss Midna...The King of Lions...Tati..." he sniffled and looked down to splash his face with water.
"...Hylia, please help me get away from them..." Link sighed, his hands returning to his hair. "Give me another way."
"Take the whole triforce for yourself and go," A voice whispered to him, causing a shiver to go down his spine. "Take it and leave, go as far away from Hyrule as you can..."
Link nodded quickly, rushing out of the fountain so that he could return to the castle.
-
Link felt his skin craw as he slipped into the room that he, Ganondorf and Zelda shared. All he had to do was touch them both, ask Hylia to mend the triforce, then leave.
Simple.
"Where were you?" Zelda'z cold voice cur through him.
"...with Sidon?" He chewed his bottom lip.
"Sidon said you weren't with him," Ganondorf growled out. "Where were you?"
"Praying to the goddesses, for the love of Hylia!" Link groaned and crossed his arms.
"Where?" Zelda pressed on.
"Spring of courage."
They both relaxed. "That's all you had to say"
"I shouldn't have had to say anything," Link snapped. "I'm the hero of fucking time-"
Ganondorf grabbed a handful of his hair and tugged him forward. Link let out a startled gasp.
"Let go of me!"
"Ganon-!"
"He's not listening to either of us, Zelda." Ganondorf hissed. "He should be taught a lesson, no?"
Link swiped a dagger off his belt and slashed at Ganondorf. The tall Gerudo released him and he took the chance to book it.
-
"He...Oh my Link.."
"I can't go back Sidon, he'll kill me," Link sighed, snuggling closer to Sidon's chest. "I cut him with my dagger..."
"Serves him right, hurting you like that," Sidon's hands moved gently through the Hylian's hair.
"...I lied and told them I was at the springs..."
"Why lie?"
"The fairy fountain is my place," Link huffed softly. "Besides, they don't need to know my every movement."
"No, I suppose they don't," Sidon chuckled. "Your welcome to stay here as long as you need, my dear."
"...thank you Sidon."
I'm sorry I failed you Hylia....I won't make the mistake again
