Jisung felt the tears streaming down his cheeks as he downed the glass of water Seungmin had brought for him. His friend had found Jeongin who had disappeared for a spell and they decided it would be best to leave the club.
The trio was seated at a small table outside of a convenience store, the rain pounded down around them but they were strategically seated under the stores large awning.
Jeongin was on Seungmin's right, nervously biting his nails and going on about how Hyunjin was going to kill him. Jisung was on Seungmin's left, bawling his eyes out and going on about how Hyunjin didn't love him. Seungmin, having no bad blood against the boy sat there awkwardly trying to comfort his two friends.
That is until Jeongin bolted up from his spot, the chair toppling backwards onto the pavement, his eyes wide and fixed straight ahead into the rain.
"He's coming." he hissed causing Jisung to bolt upright, eyes wide as well but refusing to look in the direction Jeongin was.
"Jeongin, let's go." His voices reached the before his image did. It was hard and unnerving, angry even. Jeongin visibly gulped.
Jisung didn't know what had happened. He had no idea why Hyunjin was pretending not to know him back there. He didn't remember doing anything wrong. The last time he had even talked to the boy was a few weeks back when he had helped him with Jungkook.
"Bye guys." Jeongin spike quietly. He knew he was dead meat. Hyunjin, thought his brother, was in some ways like his parent.
Seungmin glanced at the oldest, who was now visible by the light of the store behind them, eyebrows knit, bangs soaked from walking in the pouring rain and sticking to his previously exposed forehead. He turned back to Jeongin and patted his arm. "Good luck. I'll call you."
Jeongin laughed. "If I'm not dead, I'll pick up."
"Bye bye Innie~ I wuv you," Jisung, still drunk and crying, waved at the boy as he left.
Jeongin approached his brother. "I hope you know you're in a shit load of trouble." Hyunjin hissed once his brother was in front of him.
Jeongin was about to not respond when he was suddenly taken over with anger. Anger at his brother for hurting his long time best friend like he did. Anger at his brother for always acting so much older and bigger than he was. Angry at his brother who endlessly controlled his life yet kept everything from him.
"You're a year older than me. What makes you think you have the right." Jeongin glared back before pushing past the boy and making his way down the sidewalk.
"Jeongin!" Hyunjin called, angrily following after him. "Where the hell do yo-"
"SEE! This is the problem! YOU control ME! MY life!" Jeongin wheeled around so he was face to face with him.
"Jeon-"
"NO!" he spat. "You don't get to control my life if you can't even get a handel on your own. You sold you body for SEX, you stick you dick in my BEST FRIEND and just when we all thought things were getting better for you what do you do? We find you sucking FACES with some random kid you find at a club, pretending you don't know Jisung as if you two didn't make out in the kitchen a few weeks ago?!" Jeongin was fuming, pouring everything out. The word vomit just kept coming until he couldn't control it. "YOU DISGUST ME you know that? You are a SHITTY example of a brother!"
When he finished the air was still, the weight of his words hanging there, stuck. Hyunjin was silent as everything seeped in, the last words striking him in the stomach, making it twist in a violently grotesque manner. He felt like he was going to hurl. But the truly sickening thing was that Jeongin was absolutely right. This was the truth.
"Truth hurts, doesn't it Hwang." Jeongin scoffed. "I'm staying with Seungmin tonight."
Jeongin pushed past him, walking back in the direction they had come leaving Hyunjin alone in the rain on the sidewalk. And for the first time since the bridge.
He cried.
