Our Overpowered Hearts

New World, New Family

Link sighed, stretching his toned and tanned arms above his head as he sat the last box into his new room. Scratching idly behind his magically hidden pointed ears, the immortal yawned. His grey-blue eyes watered lightly with the action and his dirty blonde hair swayed lightly as the wind blew in softly from the open window. Turning to leave his room, he went and met up with the other Link. He appeared to be in his early to mid-twenties, but was already a few hundred years old in truth and stood about 6'5''.

For the sake of less confusion, our Link will be known as Twilight, as that is what this man had once been the hero of. His friend, also born as Link, was from an alternate timeline so they just settled on the name Wild, since his homeworld was nothing but ruins and wilderness.

Half a year ago, both our boys were summoned to this strange new world, where Rupees weren't the currency and there was no kingdom of Hyrule. It was only thanks to Midna and the spirit of an Ancient Queen to explain things to the wayward heroes that they didn't fight each other or the strange mechanical monsters all around them.

"Hey Wild! Have you finished gathering your things?"

"Coming Twi! Man I still can't believe we get to live in a world of magic so far from our own dimensions! Plus in this amazing mansion and all!"

Twilight sighed at the nickname, shaking his head at the rambunctious youth who came bounding out of the room a few doors down from his own. Wild had bright, fluffy locks of gold he kept tied in a small ponytail at the base of his neck and the brightest blue eyes Twilight had seen in a long time.

Like Twilight, Wild also had pointed elven ears but his skin was slightly lighter tan and he appeared to be in his teens, only a couple hundred years old compared to Twilight's going on 500 and stood at 5'5''.

Leaving the magically hidden mansion, their illusion charms in place that made them appear human, the two were teleported to a secluded area outside of a small tavern. Walking through the Leaky Cauldron with purpose, though Wild held back a soft whimper at all the curious gazes that lingered on their forms, the two entered the main city of London and split up.

Twilight went to check out the North and East of the city and surrounding area, while Wild went to the West and South. The two would meet up in front of the Leaky Cauldron once more in 3 days.

*Wild's P.O.V 1 day later*

I sighed, stretching as I left the small motel I slept in for the night. I had gotten just about all the things on my list that we needed, what I couldn't carry without attracting attention in my sub-space item bag I had shipped to a storage facility where we could pick them up later. Now I decided to wander for a bit, take in more of the sights. This world was very polluted, it stung my sensitive nose and hurt my ears, I couldn't imagine how Twi was handling it.

Walking down a small neighborhood, Private Drive or some such, I said hello to some of the residents and made small talk. It may be good to have a normal smaller home too, a way to blend in with the human society as well.

I was talking to a rather strange woman, Petunia, about the matter. Thanks to my history as a Royal Guard, she seemed to find no fault in my politeness and demeanor.

"Would you like to come in for a spot of tea dear? My husband and son would love to meet such a polite young man!"

Her voice grated on my ears, but I held back a wince and nodded politely. There was nothing remarkable about her home, it seemed to be a copy/paste of the ones surrounding it. Inside the neat decor was rather nice, but it seemed cold and looked like the family was trying too hard to impress any who entered.

"This is a lovely home, Mrs. Petunia."

She wouldn't let me call her Mrs. Dursley, though I commented that Petunia sounded nicer. Her husband was a rather large man with beady eyes, her son Dudley the same. I got a bad feeling from them.
