Dave pov
It's been two weeks since Efe got out of the hospital and she's doing a lot better I've also been staying at her place more just to make sure she's okay.
Today is also my little sisters birthday and the death anniversary of both my mom and sister
On my sisters 13th birthday we went to a restaurant with my mom at the time I was 18, she was my world and I knew a had to protect her but I failed her and I've been living with the guilt of not saving her that night.
When we got home that night six men in black were waiting for us in the living room.
Flashback
"Thank you so much Dave I had fun" Alice my little sister said smiling hard
"Always, you know I love you" I said hugging her
"Oya bring the key joor" my mum said laughing
"Ehh ehh them don show oya lie down now" a man wearing all black and a black mask said to us
"Oga ab....Abeg we no get money Abeg" I pleaded with him
"You for tell your papa when him come carry my money run" the said eyeing me
"Please pl.....please" my mum said holding Alice down to cover her while I was in front kneeling
"Which father we don't know our father, mum what's he talking about" I asked feeling confused
"Baby your father was a bad man that's why I left him" she said crying
"E don do Abeg" the other guy yelled
"This your sister fine oo" the guy I assumed to be the leader said with a disgusting smirk
"No no no no, please, please not her Abeg take me, take me" my mom said crying out
"Drogo how about we take the two" one of the men asked who I assumed to be their leader
"Ehhh ehh oya na but me sef go chop the two oo, we go switch iya" drogo said
"Boss what about the boy na" one of the men asked referring to me
"Leave am there, make en watch, en go like am no worry"
"Please leave them, pl........." I was cut by of two of the men shoving my to the ground and shutting my mouth as I watched them defile and abuse my sister, afterwards my mom, I tried to shut my eyes but for every time I tried they would threaten to make me join them, I heard my sister and mom scream in pain.
Flashback over
I haven't been the same since then, I mean who would, after the incident my sister died immediately while my mom survived only a few minutes before they shot her. My Aunt Caro took me in afterwards and basically became my mom although we both know my mom is irreplaceable, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression but after a few years of treatment the depression has gotten a lot better , I mean I still have moments and my anxiety, well that's that. When I heard about Efe's panic attack I was worried, I still don't know what happened, she promised to tell me but not now or soon and I respect that plus I can't loose her, it sounds crazy but I'm starting to fall real hard for her.
"Dave, Dave, Dave" Efe called above a whisper snapping me out of my trance
"Yes, are you okay?" I asked looking worried
"You look sad and I'm worried, are you okay? or did I do something" she asked with gloomy eyes
"Efe I'm fine, I was thinking about random stuff" I lied giving her a small smile
"I don't believe you but okay, I won't push it" she said pouting
"Uhmmm would you like to go out tonight?, to this restaurant, it was my sisters favorite" I had told her about loosing my mom and sister at a young age but I just didn't tell her how.
"Off course I will" I said throwing my beautiful smile.
EFE POV
Dave and I were just about leaving the restaurant when I bumped into someone.
"Ohh I'm so sorry, are you okay?" I asked trying to her the lady
"Yeah I'm ok...... Efe, Efe Osage" she asked looking surprised
"Uhmm I do....," I paued before it hit, it's Doris, she was my best friend in high school before I left for London
"Holy shit, Doris, how have you been?" I asked smiling hard
" I should be asking you, you just left like that" she said pouting like a child
"Uhmm mm mm" Dave cleared his throat
"Sorry, Doris meet Dave, Dave meet Doris" I said introducing them
"Ouuuu babe this your man is hot oo you no go like share?" she said smirking
"He's not my man, he......." I said blushing before Dave cut me off
"Not yet, and it would definitely be inappropriate to pay such compliments to your friends supposed man" Dave said harshly
"Dave, don't be rude" I said eyeing him
"Cool, can we go now?" Dave asked sternly
"Yeah sure, uhmm Doris why don't I just get your number and we'll talk later" I said giving her my card and my phone
"Okay" she said typing her number on my phone before giving back
"Okay bye love" I said waving as Dave I walked out, I promised to go with him to visit his mom and sisters grave site.
