"Natie, so what are our plans for tomorrow?" Tina asks Natalia as she closes up the open books in front of her.

"Well, I was thinking we could go shopping. I mean, nothing says a better independence day than a new outfit."

Tina gets up from her bed and transfers herself to Natalia's with a big smile on her face, "Outfits, Natalia, you forgot the letter S."

They both laugh loudly together, "You're so right Tina, my mistake."

"Yeah, it is. Now back to the main point, let's talk about what sort of shoes we'll be buying tomorrow."

"Oh, Tina, wait a minute...Mavis, get over here."

They both turn to Mavis who just laid on her bed, looking up at the ceiling, with a slight smile on her face, while daydreaming about her encounter with Willis.

Natalia gets up from her bed and moves closer to Mavis, "Mavis?!...Mavis to earth!"

Her loud snapping fingers is enough to do the trick as she promptly bounces back to her senses, "What?...sorry, what were you guys saying?"

"Mavis! You weren't even listening."

She sits up to face Natalia properly, "What? Of course I was."

"So then I guess you won't mind contributing to our conversation about where we are gonna study tonight."

"Easy, the library, like we always do."

Natalia then turns to Tina, they both give each other a look implying that they were right about her not listening, "Mavis, that wasn't what we were talking about."

She quickly realizes what they had just done, and lets out a deep sigh, "Ok...I'm sorry."

With that, Natalia sits herself down on Mavis's bed and looks her in the eyes, "Mavis, is everything ok?"

"Yeah, don't worry about it, I'm fine," she lies.

"Are you sure?" Natalia asks, taking hold of her hand.

"Yeah, I am."

"Ok, just checking."

"Hey Mave, whatever it is...we're here for you, ok?" Tina shouts from where she lay.

Mavis just smiles at her and nods her head in a way that showed she wasn't concentrated on anything they said to her, "I know...thanks T," she replies, making her smile even wider, so they wouldn't notice that she really wasn't interested in them, cause no matter what they did or said, she was still going to be oblivious that wasn't, you know? Willis.

"Danny!...Hey!...Wait up!"

She turns around to see who was calling her name, "Scott, hey."

He comes closer and gives her a kiss, "How's my favourite girl?"

"Your favourite girl? Meaning you have another one?"

He looks at her surprised, "What?! No! I just meant like..."

"...I know what you meant Scott, I was just kidding," she laughs at him as he grabs her waist and pulls her closer to him, gently taking the hair on her face behind her ear to clear the way for another kiss. But as he brings his head closer, she takes hers further, "Scott, we're in the middle of the school hallway...we can't keep dragging attention to ourselves."

He takes a moment of thought before smiling at her and letting go.

"Thank you," she says in a relieved tone. He just smirks at her and continues the conversation.

"Ok, now I can get to the main reason I'm here, right?"

They both stop walking. Danny then turns to face him, "Main reason? Ok, I'm all ears."

"Great," he gently takes hold of her hands, "I'm gonna drop by home tomorrow to see my family, and I would really love you to come along."

"What?!" She immediately removes her hands from his hold in shock, and she was definitely sure it wasn't a good kind of shock. But luckily, he didn't seem to grab the message.

"I can tell you're surprised cause you really like the sound of it, I knew you'd be excited, that's why I came up with the idea," he places his hands on her face and searches her eyes with his, trying to see the excitement and happiness he claimed she had, but couldn't. The smile on his face then slowly fades away, "Danny, aren't you happy about this?"

Of course she wasn't! Talk about wrong timing Scott!

She stares into his eyes and she could see it, he was desperate for an answer. But then as she started, the only thought that ran through her mind was the part of Willis asking her to go with him to his house tomorrow, and the part of her saying yes.

What was she to do now? She had no available answer at the time, but then she had to think of something, anything at all would have served at that moment, as long as she spoke to him, cause the more she left him hanging, the more he figured something was up. And she certainly didn't want him to think that way, even if it was true.

And recently, Scott had seen Willis as a large threat to their relationship ever since he had confronted her about seeing him as a boyfriend in front of Willis, although there wasn't any good explanation, they got through it, but now it was down to this.

This was a very tough choice she had to make before tomorrow. It was either Willis or Scott.

She immediately brightens up her face by forcing out a smile, "Of course I'm happy, I mean...why wouldn't I be?"

At that statement, he could feel the excitement rise inside of him, "You're right, this is so amazing, isn't it? I mean, ever since we started dating, my parents haven't really gotten the chance to meet you yet, so we can consider this as the perfect opportunity for them to see you, and get to know of all the reasons why I think of you as an amazing girlfriend."

"Yay! I can't wait!"

He straps her into a big hug, making her feel more guilty than she already was. She was lying through her teeth, she wanted to tell him the truth, she really did, but then she couldn't.
Come on Danny, this is your boyfriend you're talking about, are you really going to fall his hands over some guy you just met?...some guy with dreamy eyes, and perfect hair, and gives you those butterflies that Scott hasn't given you in a long time...stop it Danny! What in the hell are you doing?! Don't think that way! Mind cheating isn't cool...stop saying mind cheating! You're not mind cheating!...or are you?

The thoughts in her head drove her crazy, but she had to focus.

The hug seems to have been lasting too long, but could she blame him? She was his perfect girl, right?

Who was she kidding? she couldn't do this, this was clearly a sign, she just couldn't go with Willis. Yes, that was the answer, all for Scott and not for Willis. Great, she had made her decision, all she had to do now was to turn him down. Simple and short.
