Their eyes met and for the first time ever, each of them finally had a deeper understanding of the other.
Something shone in his eyes and something swelled in her heart.
Their fellow teammates broke through the trees and the moment was lost.
They shifted apart but in actuality they felt closer than ever.
"What happened to your forehead protector?" Lee asked her.
Neji tensed.
She laughed, releasing the tension.
"It got damaged," she replied holding Neji's one up for Lee to see, " I'll get the band fixed in the village."
She never got around to returning it did she?
