Kate's pov
We walk into the lunch room. "Hey Kate" I hear Daniel and see him waving me over to his table. I walk over and sit across from him as Ryan sits right next to me. "We need to talk" I say as his smile fades into a frown. "Oh okay, um...what about?"

Conversation between Kate and Daniel. 👇

K- "I'm not somebody to be messed with"
D- "What are you talking about?"
K- "You know what I'm talking about! You were going to use me like I'm some puppet to you!"
D- "You know what Kate? You are so whiny you are out of this group! You mean nothing to us you unpopular loser!"
K- "Good, that's what I wanted!"
D- "Get ready for the worst four years of your life!"

Kate's pov
That is last thing I heard as I got up and walked away from his table with Ryan by my side saying how cool I was by sticking up for myself. As I blocked out his rambling all I could think about is what Daniel said. I wonder how bad these four years are going to be just because I didn't want to be one of his puppets. Ryan then snapped me out of my thoughts. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, why wouldn't I be" is all I could say. "Okay just checking, are you going to sit with me at lunch?" He asks me. "Wait, really you want me to sit with you?" I ask surprised that he even wants me to be around him. "Yeah, you're still my best friend" he said "Yeah, that would be cool" I said. "Awesome, we should get to class or we're going to be late" as he says that I hear the bell ring for us to get to class. We get into class and take our seats and I could think was I'm so happy that I fought back because now I'm with the people I want to be with.
