CHAPTER 20- DON JUAN

After the dismissal bell rang, Grace rushed to Bailey's locker to inform her she was unable to give her a ride home after practice. She decided to check out the new Mexican restaurant and hoped that Evan would be up for it.

Bailey was gossiping with Gavin at her locker when she came up behind her and flipped her hair. Bailey whipped around and Grace snickered.

"Dammit, Grace, you snuck up on me like a Prius!" Bailey shot.

"Well, were you expecting someone else?" She asked her and Bailey poked her with her lipgloss.

"Watch it!" Grace said. "Listen, can you get a ride today? Evan and I are going to grab an early dinner after practice. You guys can join us if you'd like. I am proposing DeMarco's. I hear they have excellent burritos."

"DeMarco's? As in Don Juan?" asked Gavin with a grin. Bailey smacked his arm.

"Ha ha. No, that would be you." He laughed.

"Damn straight that would be me. Just you wait until Saturday!" He warned Bailey.

  Grace just shook her head.

"Whatever, you two. Is that a 'yes' or 'no'?" She asked.

"Sure." Said Bailey. "I'm in." She turned to Gavin and he nodded in agreement.

"Why not? I'll tell Evan. I gotta hit the locker room and change. Don't wanna be late. Fullman will be on a warpath this week. See you two ladies in a bit."

He smacked Bailey on the rear end and winked at Grace. She waited for him to leave before she bent Bailey's ear.

"You're not gonna hook up with him this weekend, are you?" She asked with a pang of anxiety. With Bailey, she just never knew.

"We'll see how things go, Grace. I wasn't planning on it. But, hey, plans can change!" She added playfully.

"Bailey, you're too much. You just started talking to Gavin!" She mothered and paused for a moment.

Grace didn't know much about Gavin. But, from what she'd seen so far, he left plenty to be desired. He was too arrogant for her liking. Plus, she knew Bailey could do better.

"I'm only looking out for you is all." Grace knew Gavin had a bit of a reputation with the girls at FHS and a few other schools. She didn't want to see her friend get hurt.

"Look who's talking, Gracie. You and Evan are practically glued at the hip! Or, shall I say the lip? Who cares if Gavin and I hook up after Homecoming? He's cute!"

She grabbed her jacket and a few books and stuffed them into her backpack before slamming it shut with an annoying clang.

"Walk with me to the gym." She instructed Grace.

"Yeah, he is. But he knows it. And 'hooking up' with someone once and being in an actual relationship are two different things. I think Evan and I are very much on the same page. He knows I'm more into a relationship. I think he is, too." She explained.

 Bailey broke into a smile.

"And Gavin knows that I'm more into a 'hook up'!" She walked quickly with Grace toward the locker rooms. "Grace, I still have another year left at this dive. I want to keep my options open. You and Evan are graduating. But the sky's the limit for this girl!"

She widened her eyes at Grace.

"Shouldn't it be the other way around?" she responded.

Bailey thought for a moment. "Not for you two. I see a future there. I have my senior year ahead of me, though, and I plan to live it up. You guys are still new to each other, but you'll make it work. I see the way he looks at you. Besides, Evan's not the 'hook up' type."
