"Where do you think your going Stacey?"
"Umm, to my bag?" Stacey replied.
"Oh no you aren't," the bully John told her.
"Oi shove off!" Damian called out at John, appearing round the corner. He turned to Stacey. "You ok sis?" He asked her.
"Yeah, I think so. You came....." Stacey started saying before John cut her off.
"When I catch you without your brother!" John threatened, making a cutting motion with his hand.
"Don't even dare," Damian called to John. "What you do to her, I do to you."
This scared John, so he left the two siblings alone.
"He is really scared of you, isn't he?" Stacey commented.
"Well, who isn't. I'm very tall, strong and athletic. I just wish that sometimes more people would see past that, and get to know me." Damian sighed. "Ok, well off to practice I go. Cya at home in about 2 hours sis," He said.
"Ok, cya then," she called as he left.
Damian walked to go meet his best friend, Shane. "How ya doing?" Damian asked, seeing Shane waiting for him outside the gym.
"Eh, not bad, you?" Shane replied.
"Well....." Damian trailed off.
"Had to save your sister again from John?" Shane guessed.
"Yeah," Damian reluctantly admitted.
"Dude, either sort John out, or let Stace fight her own battles, you can't protect her forever y'know." Shane told Damian.
"Yeah, I know. I just want to help her, because she is so much shorter than everyone," Damian said, which was quite ironic, because he was one of the tallest kids in grade 10 standing 6 foot 6. He also had a 6 foot 9 wingspan, which came in handy when playing basketball, as he was heading off to do then. "But anyway, let's go to training now. We can talk more about this later."

They trained hard, and Damian came home tired and sore.
"Hey bro,"Stacey said as he walked in.
"Mmm," he grunted, and just walked into his room and flopped down on his bed.
Disappointed, Stacey went outside to go play with her dog, Pebble. "Y'know, I wish he would stop protecting me so much," she said to herself as she threw Pebble's ball through the air over and over for Pebble to go fetch. She knew that she wouldn't stand a chance against John on her own, but sometimes Damian's protection became too much. After about half an hour, she went in to go get some dinner.
"How was your day honey?" Her mum Kate asked.
"It was ok, but John happened again." Stacey said bitterly. For someone of her small size she had a fire within herself that burnt with the heat of a thousand suns.
"Oh no, did he hurt you?" Kate asked, suddenly very concerned.
"No, Damian saw to that. I can't believe it's still funny watching John run away from Damian, even though I get to see it almost every day." Stacey said, chuckling under her breath.
"He is a great brother." Kate commented. Kate knew about her son's struggle to get friends, and she knew it bothered him a lot. But like everyone else in their family, she was grateful that his few friends were amazing people, and stuck with him no matter what.
"Sometimes I wish he would let me fight my own battles, because he is always having to save me, which makes me seem weak in front of everyone else." Stacey admitted.
