2 weeks passed, and Damian returned to the USA after a disappointing loss in the semi-finals of the olympics. But he didn't have much time to mope about the result of the olympics, because he had to get ready for the next huge stepping stone of his life. He was heading off to PTBA for his first week of learning. He would be staying there during the weeks, and come home for the weekends. He was super pumped. Damian woke up fresh before dawn to catch his flight down south from his hometown Charleston to Miami, where PTBA was located. Damian ran downstairs to get ready. Stacey made sure to be awake to see him off.
"I'll miss you Dame." Stacey hugged him just before he walked out.
"Same here sis," Damian hugged her back. The two embraced for a long while before Stacey finally let go, tears running down her face.
"Have fun." She managed to choke out.
"I will. Why are you crying?" Damian asked Stacey.
"I don't want you to go." Stacey was crying really hard now.
"I have to go. I have to, for dad." Damian said. "Just make sure you give John the beating he deserves."
"I will try." Stacey said. She clung onto Damian like a toddler for a minute longer before letting go.
Damian stood there with his arm around Stacey's shoulders for a little longer before he ran over to Amanda's place. She met him at the door.
"Excited?" Amanda asked.
"Very. Stacey isn't though. She seemed very upset to see me go." Damian said, and he almost broke into tears.
"From what you have told me, you two have never been apart like you will be for the next while." Amanda knew what Stacey was going through, but then again, she also had no idea what it was like for Stacey. Stacey and Damian had a very different love than Amanda and Damian. They had a very strong sibling bond that showed countless times. One she didn't have with her older sister Catherine.
"Daydreaming?" Damian asked, pulling Amanda out of her thoughts.
"No, just thinking about Stacey." Amanda said.
"Ok. Well, take care of Stacey. I guess I'll see you when I see you." Damian said.
"I will take care of her. Have fun, and learn some new things." The couple kissed. After a long moment, they pulled apart. Damian smiled at Amanda, then turned around and jogged to the bus station. Amanda stayed outside for a minute longer watching Damian leave. The bus pulled up a few minutes later, right on time. Damian was the only person on the bus, and he got to Charleston airport very quickly. Within half an hour, his plane was taking off. There were another two PTBA recruits on the plane, and he was sitting next to one of them. The recruit next to him was Tyler Carvington. Tyler and Damian had both played for South Carolina in a few tournaments, and knew each other pretty well. Tyler liked to wear his straight and dark brown hair slicked back. He was also very intimidating, standing 6'5 with a shoulder width of 3 feet! He was built like a wrecking ball, and had the strength of one. He was also very quick on his feet, an amazing combination, perfectly suited to dominate basketball games. Damian chatted with Tyler for most of the flight, and found out that Tyler was just as excited to go to the academy as Damian was. As they exited the plane, a man was there to greet the three recruits.
"Right this way," the man ushered them to a luxurious and jet black minibus.
"This is pretty cool," the third recruit Jaxon said.
"Yeah, it is." Damian said.
"Are you done yapping?" The man asked. "Get in, or you will be late. Trust me, you don't want to be late for PTBA."
