It was silent in the car and my attempts to start conversation was shut down so I left him alone. Junta was silent as well cause I think he was aware of Ryō's feelings as well.
The GPS indicated that we should stop but we just ended up at some random graveyard. I leaned over to Chunta,
"Are you sure this is the right place?" He whispered back,
"I don't know, I entered the exact coordinates." Ryō unbuckled his seatbelt and I look back at him.
"This is the right place, thank you for taking me." He got out of the car and bowed, "If you don't mind Takato,I'd like you to meet someone. Umm Junta, you can come too I guess." He gave me a nervous smile. I nodded and got out of the car because who could say no to him, especially if he's like this. He held my hand and walked through the graveyard and we stopped at the head stone that says 'Narumiya Hiroaki, Feb. 24th 1995- Nov. 31st 2010' My eyes widened, the 31st, that's today! He brought me here to commemorate his dead! He bent down and grabbed incense and flowers out of his bag and placed them down. He prayed allowed.
"Happy Birthday Nii-Chan, I brought over a friend with me, I hope that's okay." This boy, I can really empathize with him, to loose a loved one, but his brother? I can't imagine. I put a hand on his shoulder to indicate that it's okay.
"He's really sweet to me and kind as well. He actually reminds me a lot of you Nii-Chan. Although he did scold me a couple of times for my 'ham acting'." He giggled and continued to speak.
"I got you your favorite flowers, Red Spider Lilies, Pink Chrysanthemums, and Hibiscuses. Oh, you know that I actually won a tennis match today! Though, he wasn't that good at all." He continued talking with his brother and then he got up.
"You can talk to talk to him now." I crouched down and I felt a warm presence and I believe it was Hiroaki. I told him that he doesn't have to worry and that Ryō is a good kid.
We walked back to the car and I had Chunta's hand in my hand and we all walked to the car. The air was heavy but somehow liberating. It wasn't as hard to talk to him now.
"Hey... I know you've had a rough day, do you wanna grab something to eat before you go home?" He nodded his head eagerly.
"Okay, but we'd have to go to the apartment to grab my wallet first." He smiled.
"That's fine." We all buckled up our seatbelts and drove over to the apartment.
Around a half hour later we reached the apartments. I unbuckled my seatbelt.
"Ryō, do you wanna see our apartment?"
"Our apartment, you and Junta live together?" Junta held up his engaged hand.
"Yep, we're engaged." He says.
"Oh I didn't know, that's awesome. And yes, I would like to see it if that's fine." Ryō replied. We all got out the out the car and walked to our apartment room.
We got to our apartment room and Ryō was gushing all over.
"It's so big!" He exclaimed as he was looking all over. I just laughed at his actions and he plopped down squishing a throw pillow.
"I grabbed my wallet, is there anything you wanna eat?" He thought for a moment and excitingly said,
"Oden!"
"Oden? Isn't that a little too early for that?" (Foot Note: Oden is a Japanese hot pot dish usually reserved for cold winter days and it usually has vegetables and some sort of protein and it's stewed in a light broth.) but he looked really excited so I couldn't really say no.
"Okay, Oden it is. The problem is that Oden is served in the cold winter months in January so it would probably wouldn't be served by restaurants anytime soon." He looked dejected. Man, how do deal with kids?
"I'm sorry, but can you ask me why you wanted Oden specifically?" He simply said,
"It was my brother's favorite dish." I felt really bad and didn't know what do. Then I heard Chunta from the kitchen.
"Taka-Darling we have the eggs, fish cakes, and tofu for the Oden but we don't have Dashi and we're running low on soy sauce and wine. Would you like me to go to the store and get some?" (Foot Note: Dashi is a type of Broth) Chunta, you're a real lifesaver! I'll have to make to thank him later. I looked back at Ryō and then my watch, it's getting late.
"I don't know, I mean it's almost 10:30.(22:30) Do we have enough time to make Oden. Should we send him home? I mean his parents are properly worried." He shouted.
"NO!" I looked at him and he looked really anxious.
"W-w-what I-I mean is, that they probably won't care, y-yeah t-that's what I mean!" I raised my eyebrow in suspicion, though I didn't pry because I can tell he clearly was upset. I put a hand on his shoulder.
"We don't have enough time for Oden, but does Yakitori sound alright." (Foot Note: Yakitori is literally bite size barbecued chicken on a skewer with some seasoning) He nodded his head and smiled. I'm glad he's not that upset on the switch of menu.
"Chunta, could you pick up some chicken and some mirin rice wine? Oh, and some Melon and Jamu-pan too?" (Foot Note: Melon and Jamu-pan is a type of Kashi-pan which literally means sweet bread)
"Yep." He got out of the kitchen, grabbed his keys, and put on shoes.
"Ryō, do you wanna go with Junta, or stay here with you?" He quickly hugged my waist.
"I wanna stay here... with you." I petted his head.
"Okay then." He waved us goodbye.
"Bye guys, I won't be long, I'll be back as soon as possible." I sat next to him and started conversation.
"Hey, I couldn't help but noticed the flowers you got for Hiroaki; Wierd combination, I heard you say that those were his favorite?" He had a solemn smile.
"Yeah, I remember when I was younger he would tell me the story of Mañju, Saka, and the Red Spider Lily from old Chinese legend and how the were in love but never permitted to see each other." Kind of like the tale of two lovers in Hawaii.
"He said that even though, it was associated with lost he said that you still have the memory with the sniff of the lily and what once was." This kid; I wrapped my arms around him in a warm embrace.
"It's okay Ryō, it's gonna be okay. That flower, from that story, is known to be beautiful for when the short time it blooms." He held on me tighter and nuzzled up my chest. He looked up at me and said.
"You know, my brother was really good at botany. He used to tell me stories of flowers and their meanings all the time." I patted his hair some more.
"Really?" He wore a gentle smile.
"Yeah, we would be out in the garden and he would explain to me all the flowers in there and would say I'm a violet." A light smiled grazed my face.
"Why did he call you a violet?" He giggled in reminiscence.
"He would call me violet because because he book said it meant sincerity, small bliss or love. And I remember having this mind set that violets were little, common and Unspecial and when he would always say it's nice having those little moments to remind you you're alright." I smiled at him and this moment.
"Then can I call you Sumire (Violet) then?" I playfully ask.
"Fat chance Onii-Chan." I put my hand up playfully.
"What, come on! Here, I'll tell you what, you can call me a flower that suits me well in return. We can do that for everyone. It'll be our little inside thing." He looked up at me and stared hard.
"Hmm, akaichurippu (red tulip)."
"And does a red tulip symbolize?" I ask.
"It symbolizes fame, trust, charity, and eternal love." Wow, who knew praise from a teenager could mean this much.
"And what flower would Junta be?" He thought for a moment.
"He's very goal oriented so he would be a very professional flower, ya'know a type of flower you would give to your boss, like a Keshi(Ki) (Yellow poppy) but he has this glow about him like Himawari (Sunflower)."
"And Ayagi?" He immediately answered.
"A Chūrippu (A yellow tulip)."
"And why do you say that Ayagi is a yellow tulip?" He thought for a second.
"Hmm, I don't know, he just gives me that feel ya'know?" (Foot Note: A yellow tulip in Japanese culture means one sided love BTW).
We continued talking and Chunta came back with the ingredients.
"Taka-Darling, I'm home with what you've asked. Hoped you two didn't have too much fun without me." I sat back and crossed my arms.
"Without you, of course not. Himawari (Sunflower)." Chunta stared blankly and Ryō giggled saying,
"Yeah we didn't do anything Himawari."
"Uhhh, I don't know why you guys are calling me a sunflower but if it's a new pet name from Taka-Darling then I'll take it." He stared putted the groceries away and Ryō asked.
"What's a pet name?" Well, at least he's not asking about pillow talk.
"It's a type of nickname you would usually give to your significant other like sweetie, honey, or dear, things like that. Your parents probably called each other those type of names before."
"My parents call each other names but they're not those." He says plainly. That's... slightly alarming. I try to distract him again.
"Hey, would you like to help me and Junta prepare dinner?" He nodded his head eagerly shout out,
"I'd love to!" We went into the kitchen and helped Junta prepare dinner and a few cuts and spilling seasoning all over and we were done and were enjoying dinner.
"Itadakimasu!" We all chanted and dug in. The conversation at the dinner table was lively and when it was time to send Ryō home he was already passed out so Chunta carried him to the car and I got his address from his manager.
We drove to Ryō's house and it was a really decent size. I wonder what his parents do?
"Ryō, Ryō, it's time to wake up, it's time to go home." He turned the other way and I was shaking him awake.
"Ryō," He groggily got up.
"We arrived at your house, get in your bed and get some sleep." He unclicked his seatbelt, got out the lace, and stretched.
"Okay, goodnight Hiroaki. Love you." My eyes widened, I believe he was still half asleep when he said that. I sighed and gave a smile.
He started walking to his door and Chunta help him not fall asleep where he stood. There was a brief exchange of words with Chunta I believe Ryō's mother. Chunta came back and buckled his seatbelt and drove to our apartment.
"Takato, you're so well with children." Chunta says.
"I'm not really." He smiled at me.
"Yeah you are, it makes me think if we had some kids."
"Goats?" I say nervously.
"You know what I mean Taka-Darling, let's do the first step." He says way too excited for how late it is.
"Don't even try you horny angel, it's late and we have work tomorrow." He grabbed my hand with his his while keeping the other on the steering wheel.
"Okay but this time I'm serious about this, we can talk about this after we get married." He kept holding my hand until we got home and did our nightly essentials and then falling asleep. Recharging for tomorrow.1918 words! (Excluding this outro and all off these footnotes, swear this is the most footnotes I put in a chapter) this was a big boy chapter. This chapter took me the most time, brain power, picking the right song, research, and not because I procrastinated. I took notes people, notes. I'm not even bullshiting you, no cap.
I'm just blocking out the city I live in, don't mind it, as well as the quick shitty writing.🤟🏽😬
I swear, I didn't mean for this to become as angst as this did or this long. Oops-😐 though I hope you guys like it.
Poor Narumiya, my little baby. I have an idea in my head to do a not necessarily spin off but I guess sequel about Narumiya and his family life and how it sucks and after the Wedding Takato sees the abuse and tries to adopt him, give him a proper home. Cause there was a lot of things I couldn't add in this story cause it would be to long and to away from the main story but if you want it, I'll write it. Cause again there is more I wanna flesh out with this character and his relationships with other characters in my story. I think I established Ryō thinks of Takato as a older brother but I didn't establish how Ryō thinks of Junta as a strict mom or Ayagi as that one uncle that's out there and him building a little family in his world. So if you want that then yeah.
Also if you're still with me and you've read my last chapter 'Random Story Time' then you know I found a rat in my bathroom scarring the absolute shit out of me. We'll three days later my mom found Ricardo in the mud room dead as a doorknob and made my sister take it out because ya girl a pussy!
Any who, my mind all over the place writing this outro at 2:35 am. No sleep check. 🥴😴😰 So comment if you want the Narumiya story, want love scenes, or just anything at this point. I'm a depressed teenager on Wattpad, what's new? Peace out my peeps.
Adíos, ¡Hasta Luego!
