Aurora left Rebekah and Henrik in her room for some alone time and went into the kitchen. She was hit by a sudden bout of hunger; she took things out to make herself a sandwich.
She was joined by Severus; he gave her a silent assessing look. A look she knew very well by now. He had something to say but he was not sure how she would react to that something.
‘Tell me, I know you have something on your mind.’ she asked.
‘Is it wise to share your secrets with her?’ he asked, his voice full of worry. It seemed like her being immortal and being a deity was still not enough to quell his habit of worrying about her life.
She smiled at him and said, ‘I know you think I am being reckless but truly I am not. Before I told her anything, I did my research.
It had always bugged me how a witch, a single mortal which would make an entire new species without any divine help but I got my answer when I met the Originals. The witch used blood of the doppelganger; the first doppelganger was a child of Aphrodite, it was more than two thousand years ago, she and a blessed daughter of Hecate loved the same man who stole the immortality spell for himself and the daughter of Aphrodite, in a jealous rage the daughter of Hecate created the Other Side anchoring it to the daughter of Aphrodite. For two thousand years the Other Side has served as a prison for all those supernatural that had unfinished business. When the mother of the Originals used the blood of the doppelganger, she inadvertently used the blood of a child of a Greek god as doppelgangers are living copies of their predecessor.
But not only that the Original witch asked for the blessing of Nyx. The mother of night has blessed the vampires, they are her children essentially making them family.’
Severus was shocked to know that the history of the vampires was entangled with the Greek gods.
‘What do you mean that Nyx blessed the vampires, I mean why would a primordial being do that?’
‘That I don’t know and probably will never know as she resides in Tartarus and there is no way in hell, I am popping there for a visit. All I know is that they are blessed by someone who I would have called Grandmother in another life. I mean she is the sister of the Grandfather of my Grandfather.’ she says trying to explain the very complex relationship she shared with Nyx.
‘I heard Rebekah say that witches do not like vampires, any idea why?’
‘Well it is mostly the nature witches who do not like vampires or anything that is immortal. I think this hate has spawned by the descendants of the witch who created the Other Side? Before it was the witches who ruled the supernatural but the existence of vampires shifted the balance, a vampire who is centuries old can overpower a witch with his great speed and reflexes.’
‘Ok, fine but my question remains, is it safe to tell people about you and Sirius?’
‘I think we will be fine. What can they do to us, nothing? We have no weakness that anyone can exploit, all anyone can try is to come at us by going after you, Narcissa, Draco
or Teddy, for that I have devised a plan. I am taking a page out of the playbook of the Original witch. I am going to ask Nyx to bless you all. I hope she agrees if not I am going to do the blessing. It would be better if it is done by Nyx. We are all supernatural beings as such we are all children of the Night, Nyx’s children, with her blessings I will never have to worry about losing any of you.’
‘We know you worry but you need to pace yourself, you are still not used to your powers. There was something I wanted to ask; would Draco have to change very full moon for all his eternal life?’
‘I don’t think so, the blessing should pour enough magic into him that the werewolf curse will be suppressed. He will have the supernatural powers of a wolf, the heightened instincts and reflexes but the pain of transformation will go away, it will be like an Animagus transformation. He will be like the Original Hybrid just without the craving of blood and homicidal tendencies.’
At that they shared a laugh.
‘About that Original Hybrid with homicidal tendencies. I overheard Sirius and Draco; they were talking of how you were enamored by him when you met in Chicago.’
‘You know no one, who knows them both would believe that the two of them could be so close. And to answer your question; I was taken by the Original Hybrid.’
At that he gave her signature glare; the glare he had patented. The glare said everything.
Tell me everything in great detail.
Aurora sighed.
‘He just gives an aura of Death which now I have associated with my Grandfather, it makes me feel safe.’
Severus was not impressed.
‘The aura of death makes you feel safe? Really?’
‘Yes. Is it so hard to believe that? My Grandfather is literally the ruler of the Dead. Of course, the deadly aura makes me feel safe.’
‘I don't know why I even bother? Just promise me that if the two of you decide to get together or whatever you kids do, please do try to curb the homicidal tendencies. We have Teddy, we can't be careless.’
At that Aurora did nothing but smile.

Rebekah woke up with her little brother still wrapped around her.
She could not believe it, after a thousand years her little brother, her Henrik was in front of him. The way he felt in her arms, his scent and even the way he slept was the same as it was a thousand years ago.
The day he died was the day their family broke and even after a thousand years the Mikaelson siblings tried to move forward and live without paying attention to the hole left by the absence of the littlest member of the family.
Her poor brother Elijah had tried with all his might to glue back the broken pieces of the family, rebellious Kol had tried to fill Henrik’s void by raging out, he felt the absence of his magic more keenly than anything else, he had been a prodigy, a brilliant witch with powers that came far between centuries, Finn; the eldest brother, he despised his own being, after being daggered after over nine centuries she did not know how much that would have affected him, her favorite brother, her Nik, the little blonde bot who used to carve toys for her, the one who chased her nightmares, he had fallen the farthest. His paranoia was crippling his nature, he was quick to anger and even quicker to make others suffer her wrath.
It was no wonder he had killed their mother now that she thought about it. She had betrayed him on the most fundamental level. She denied him the right to be himself, she let her husband beat him, belittle him, she even denied him the chance to veven know his real father. She could remember the anguish that Nik’s face held when he saw the head of the man who was his father, a man he was denied by his own mother. When Rebekah had seen the corpse head, even she could see the likeliness the father-son shared. If anyone would have seen them together, they would have immediately guessed their familial relation.
Their mother had betrayed them all, all her children cursed without having any chance to lead a normal life but the most cursed was her brother Nik, she took away and sealed half of him at the behest of the man that had beaten Nik black and blue for the smallest infractions.
Perhaps her mother deserved death but that did not mean she forgave Nik, he would have to answer for his lie but death at the hands of Mikael was not the answer, it was never the answer.
Now she needed her brother with her she wanted him to meet Henrik and finally kill Mikael so the entire family could be free from the terror that was Mikael.
But first she wanted to know what the Save Elena Gang was planning.
Her attention was diverted by the entrance of Aurora’s dashing brother Sirius, he called her name waking Henrik and led them both downstairs for breakfast.
The large dining table overflowed with different breakfast dishes as the entire Black family was sitting together along with the youngest Mikaelsons. She was the youngest Black sibling, Teddy, the little five-year-old grinned and made faces as his mother tried to feed him cereal, he looked at Sirius for help, he pointed at the chocolate filled doughnuts, Sirius picked one up and handed Teddy the doughnut which was taken from the child by the Black Patriarch.
‘Teddy sweetie, finish your cereal then you can have the doughnut and stop trying to encourage rebelliousness in the five-year-old, Sirius.’ the man said.
Aurora and Draco rolled their eyes at the antics and the mother smiled indulgently at them, the domestic scene made Rebekah yearn for her family to be whole again, she wanted her little brother to be alive again, without the help of some other’s magic sustaining him. She decided to ask Aurora for her help.
After breakfast she bid a tearful goodbye to her brother, it was not safe for a spirit to be out in the real world for long. As her brother faded, her tears streamed down her face.
Trying to make her feel better Aurora took her for a walk, they walked around in the forest and reaches the falls, the sunlight hitting the water made it sparkle. The sight took her back to the time when all her family was happy.
‘Is there a way that Henrik can come to us?’ she asked in a small voice.
Aurora sighed, she knew this was coming, she had immense powers but even she could not bring herself to crush her hopes. She had seen the broken eighteen-year-old girl last night, how she cried for her brother.
‘I can resurrect the dead that is true but that is true for people who have died only a short time ago, for me to raise a thousand-year-old spirit I would have to sacrifice a thousand-year-old person. The only millennia old people I know are your family, would you trade any of your living brothers for your dead one?
That made Rebekah’s head spin, to choose between brothers? She could not do that. But then an idea sparked in her head.
‘What if you use my father?’
‘Your father? Mikael?’
‘Yes. All his life he had one goal to kill my brother and any of his siblings who come in his way. Right at this moment he might be making his way to Mystic Falls to try to kill Nik. What if you use him as a sacrifice?’
That made Aurora think, it could work, it would be easier to raise a child from the death of the father than a sibling. Killing Mikael was just the side benefit.
According to the lore of vampires, Mikael was a monster monsters feared. He had terrorized his own kind, feeding on them making them turn rabid, killing entire villages of humans or cities where his children took refuge and killing any witch or warlock that dared to help his children. To know that it was his hurt pride that led to the war between species made Mikael seem like a petulant, petty man.
According to Rebekah her father was on his way to kill Klaus, it was a good opportunity to kill the terror that was Mikael and resurrect Henrik. All that was left was to get Klaus in on the plan, that task she left to his sister.

The next day Rebekah met with the Salvatore brothers and the Save Elena gang and tried to get all the information they had about Mikael. They assumed that she was too angry at her brother about his lies of their mother’s death that she would see him dead, in their eagerness to see their enemy dead they did not see the gleam of victory in the Original Sister’s eyes.
Rebekah found that Mikael was still in the cemetery in Charlotte, he denied feasting on the blood of humans which Katherine offered him but Rebekah knew it was only a matter of time before he overpowered the doppelganger vampire and freed himself.
Even though she knew Nik was the target of her father’s rage she was scared. They were so close in getting Henrik back, she did not want to lose anyone of her family members unless it was her father.
Rebekah called her brother and told him everything.
She spared no detail and told him everything, she had asked Aurora’s permission to tell her brother the truth. He requested his siter to bring Aurora along with her to meet him Richmond.
Rebekah left Mystic Falls under the guise of Homecoming shopping, accompanied by Aurora and her brothers the four of them made the two-hour journey in record time, all thanks to Draco’s exceptional driving skills.
Niklaus Mikaelson had taken residence in the penthouse suite in the city. While walking around the corridor they spied many newly made Hybrids walking around. It looked like he had succeeded in having his own personal army.
The four of them stood in front of the door, Rebekah was about to knock on the door but Aurora stopped her. She took her hands between hers and did the spell she had done before, beside Rebekah stood Henrik. She thought Niklaus would be more inclined to listen to them without any violence and threats if he saw the possibility of his brother’s resurrection. Henrik was their fail-safe.

Klaus could hear the heartbeats; his sister had come along with their guests. The tale Rebekah wove made him uneasy. To know there were beings so much powerful than him and his family did not bore well with him. His first instinct when Rebekah told him of the powers of the Black family was to annihilate them but then she told him their offer. Aurora was willing to give something back to the Mikaelson family which they had just dreamed about and never thought possible.
If they were telling the truth then the entire family would be in their debt if not, he could always test the limits of their immortality.
Finally, there was a knock on the door, his Hybrid opened the door. He had expected four people but there were five, his body felt great relief in seeing his sister safe and well, the Black siblings were standing tall, completely unbothered by him, they showed no worry or fear and he knew why when his eyes fell of the fifth person.
His entire body froze in shock. His baby brother, after a thousand years and countless nightmares he saw him, without bloodstained clothes, his throat unmarred with a smile on his face.
Henrik stared at him and smiled, he dashed in front and held his brother in his arms. Niklaus didn’t care if anyone saw his tears. His brother was in his arms, he was looking well and soon he will live.
He locked eyes with Aurora and mouthed thank you and he truly was grateful.
For now, he had a chance to kill his father and make his brother alive.
