It's unfortunate that when we feel a storm
We can roll ourselves over 'cause we're uncomfortable
Oh well, the devil makes us sin
But we like it when we're spinning in his grip

Love is like a sin, my love
For the ones that feel it the most
Look at her with her eyes like a flame
She will love you like a fly will never love you again

“Mathias…” Berwald muttered sitting in a mahogany chair on a silk pillow.

“Berwald…” the other blond whispered, giving a judging gaze, sitting on a magnificent chair with golden accents and animal skins.

The two stared at each other across the table, not daring to say a word that might offend the other. Each of them knew exactly what the other was capable of. Today was the day they would try to make allies with each other and their kingdoms. Though they had tried many times, Lukas thought today was the day. Lukas stood by Mathias with his hands behind his back. He was a sort of husband to Mathias, unwillingly of course. Mathias chose Lukas and took him out of poverty because of his beauty. He had creamy smooth skin with relaxed navy blue eyes. His hair was the color of sand and his voice was calming. Yes, he was quite charming. Everyone thought so, but no one could lay a hand on him. He was the property of the king.

Mathias tapped his finger on the table, praying this would all be over soon. Tino, a servant of Berwalds, stood beside him as well, and didn’t take his eyes off of Lukas… not once. He took a step forward, stumbling a bit, holding a piece of paper. He cleared his throat and began to speak, “In the request of King Mathias, it is asked that you, King Berwald of Sweden, come to his kingdom in Denmark to make an alliance between the two kingdoms. You will be taken care of and treated well in the castle until the alliance has been fully discussed and finalized.” His voice was nervous and he looked a bit shooken up.

‘This guy is so timid he couldn’t hurt a fly,” Lukas thought. “But you cant trust anyone now adays, huh?”

Lukas stared back at him for awhile until Tino was called over to Berwald. He whispered something into his servants ear with a devilish smirk. Tino stared at Berwald with wide eyes and a horrified frown. He wondered what Berwald could have said to make such a boy have a stare that evil.

“We’ll discuss the alliance tomorrow…” Mathias put his fingers onto his temples. “Just looking at you gives me a headache.

“I could say the same to you, Mathias.” Berwald spat back.

“I will escort you to your room your highness.” Lukas made his way to Berwald holding out his delicate hand in which Berwald gladly took. Lukas smiled at Tino, “A room was set aside for you as well, follow me.”

The three walked down the long hallway with rooms along the way and more hallways, Lukas pointed out which ones were which. The dining room, kitchen, library, study, and then the many bedrooms.

“This room on the left his mine, the one on the right is yours, Tino. If you need anything just knock.” Tino didn’t even care to look at Lukas and stepped into his room with the door shutting behind him.

“Is he alright?” Lukas asked, looking up at Berwald.

“Yes, he’s just a little tired.” Berwald said staring at the door.

They walked a little farther down until they got to the next door on the left. Lukas opened it and the creaking echoed through the whole room. The bed had white sheets and the frame was made of brown stained wood. The walls were grey with a gold pattern lining the top. “Well this is it. Need any help unpacking?”

“No I’m fine but you said the room across from Tino’s was yours?”

“Yes, if you need anything just-“

“Alright.” He took a step in and turned his head to look at Lukas. “Have a goodnight, Lukas.”

Lukas nodded and watched the door shut. He just stood there for awhile, not wanting to face Mathias. But he had to, unfortunetly so he began to walk back the way he came to the room he was in before. It was amazing how he learned not to get lost in this place. When he got back to the conference room he noticed Mathias hadn’t moved fro his chair.

“Our guests have been taken to their rooms. An odd pair, if you don’t mind me saying.”

“Berwald was staring at you.”

“What?”

“The way he looked at you tonight… I didn’t like it..”

‘”What do you mean? How was he looking at me?”

“Like how I look at you..”

Lukas gulped and stared at Mathias who didn’t stare back. ‘Is he jelous?’ Lukas thought. “Stay away from him Lukas, I hate to say it but he’s dangerous.”

“Don’t worry about it Mathias,” Lukas smiled. “They wont be here for too long.”

“I just don’t want anything happening to you.”

“Yes, I know, my love.”

“Do you have any idea what I’d do to someone if they hurt you?”

“I have a good guess,” Lukas leaned down and kissed Mathias on the cheek.

“You’ve been stressing out. Get a goodnight sleep tonight. I’ll clean up here.”

Mathias stood up and began to walk down the hallway to his room leaving Lukas in the conference room. “He didn’t even say he loved me..” Lukas mumbled. He never did say it. Not that Lukas wanted his love or that he loved him back. Lukas was just a toy for Mathias to play with. It was pitiful. Lukas never cried though. Why would he cry? This was his life. The only thing he was thankful for was…tonight maybe. Lukas smiled a sad smile. “Tonight….”
