Miami and my new home

We are on the plane to Miami Florida.
My sister looking at the view from the window telling me to look to at the beautiful ocean below us.
I cracked up at all the people parting on this Saturday evening.
"Hey Selina lets not try and get to those parties .....well at least don't get drunk."
Selina laughed and turned to look again us about 20 feet from the ground.
We had a hard landing but we made it to Miami Florida. Once we got out of the plane and found out luggage we stood outside of the airport in the burning sun that made us sweat in 2 seconds of touching our skin.
"Hey Chloe." Selina asked
"Yeah."
"Are we getting a taxi to our new apartment dad and mom paid for the first few months." Selina asked quietly and worried.
"Yes we just have to call mom and dad how far is Vermont from here." ( out home was from Vermont )
" Uhhh I think it's about 6 hours away but you should call even if they are asleep."
"Okay let's go find a taxi first then we will call them when we get to the apartment when settled in ." says Chloe with a determined look.
45 mins later.
"So what's her number again?" Asking Selina with her phone in her small and pale hands.
"206-204-9980."
Ring ring ring
" Mom?" Asked Chloe
"Hey sweetie how did your guys flight go your okay right still with Selina at your new apartment."
"Yes we are fine and yes we are in our new 2 bedroom one bath a kitchen and a living room no dining room weird right mom."
"Yeah we couldn't afford the extra bathroom and dining room so sorry sweeties but I hope you guys have the best life and make sure to stay out of trouble."
"Yeah okay mom love you." said the two girls at the exact same time.
I hung up the phone and assumed that Selina wanted to go to the beach so we unpacked and left with at least 100 bucks for dinner and emergency.
"Hey look!!!!!"yells Selina with bright blue eyes and brown curly hair." There is a job opening for lifeguards."
"Do you even know how to swim?"asked Chloe with a one eyebrow raise.
" Well Dah I learned when mom took us a few years ago."
"Well wouldn't you need re lessons for swimming or something."
" I don't think so I'm pretty good at swimming trust me."
"Okay weirdo."
"Can I go sign up please sis I really want a summer job." well winter considering it was winter but it was still very warm compared to Vermont.
" I nodded."And she took off running towards the building. she tripped a couple of times considering there was no sand or ocean in Vermont.
I laughed and followed when she turned and waved saying that she needed my guidance for a little longer In her life.
