Violet Barkley's P.O.V

What's happening? What's going on? .....I took a deep breath and stood up straight. I glanced at the others to observe their expressions and reactions. Ren and Wanda were freaking out and shaking, Ben was just confused, and Olive was just......happy? I'm not sure how to react to that since she has her goofy and silly expressions at strange moments, but this just seemed off. I looked at our surroundings, and everything seemed the same except that there was an orange path that cut through it. The trees and grass were also a variant of orange. I took another deep breath to take in the dissimilar environment and a moment to comprehend what the fox told us...... We just need to follow the orange path and ignore the other paths.

"Alright everyone, let's all calm down and follow the instructions. The faster we move, the faster we can get home." I noticed that some of them weren't listening to me since they were nervous or scared. I walked up to them and squeezed their shoulders to make them feel better. "Come on, we'll get through this." Ren was shaking a little bit too much, but he nodded.

"I-I dunno Violet, this is terrifying," Wanda said as she held my hand. I forced a convincing smile to calm her down.

"I know it is, but remember what the fox said." Wanda gulped and nodded.

"Alright," I looked at everyone, "can we go?" Some of them nodded while others were still unsure. "Hey, it's now or ne-" Suddenly, something caught my eye, the sky was getting dark. Didn't the fox say that night only lasts for 5 minutes or something? But it's dangerous? Oh no....

Author-Derpy and Author-Jakarri's P.O.V

The sky turned onyx black, but there were no twinkling stars. The light grey trees were swaying ominously in the direction that wind was flowing. The group quickly huddled together and looked around them cautiously. Suddenly, there was a deep growl echoing through the forest which furthered everyone's paranoia. Ben slowly took out his phone and turned on his flashlight. He moved his arm slowly, so he could notice the small details as well as a better view of the forest. When he finally got to a certain section of the forest, his phone accidentally flashed at a few pairs of gigantic pearl white eyes. He backed up and accidentally dropped his phone. He gasped and nearly screamed. His slight muffled tone made the rest of the group slightly turn to him, but their attention was still on the forest.

"W-what's wrong Ben?" Violet asked as she tried to stay calm.

"T-there was something dude! There was something alive!" Ben breathlessly shouted. This expressive comment didn't make anyone feel any better, or...did it?

"Oh where!?" Oliver asked excitedly, "I wanna pet it!" The group couldn't really react to Oliver since they were frozen with anxiety. Suddenly, an obsidian black blur flashed by them. Oliver, for some reason, was exhilarated, and she started to giggle. "Hey! Do you wanna hangout and eat a pineapple with me?!"

She looked around and noticed that her bag was a little bit further from her, so she happily skipped to it, but......it was off of the orange path. The obsidian black blur was waiting right near their bags with a wide smirk as a free meal was gonna skip right into its mouth. When Violet finally understood what Oilver was going to do, so she quickly sprinted over to Oliver, and right before Oliver could step off the orange path, Violet yanked her back. The two tumbled harshly onto the path, and right when Violet opened her eyes, the blur violently snapped its mouth shut like a shark. She gasped and shuttered a bit as she scrambled onto her feet and dragged Oliver back to where the group was located. She kept looking behind her in case it would've caught up to them, and when Violet finally made it back to the group with Oliver in her grasp, her face quickly turned from a fearful expression to an irritated scowl.
