I wrote this poem when I was 14. I struggled with making friends and felt alone. I wrote this poem while listening to this song from one of my favorite childhood games.
I am alone tonight,
Doesn't mean I'm lonely,
Only means it's me, myself, and I,
I dream of a life,
Out of reach,
Too far for me,
I will never see,
Someday I hope to be,
Somebody,
To show people just like me,
To love to be lonely,
I am forever alone,
For I fear not loneliness,
Because loneliness is my best friend,
I will never be lonely,
For God is right by my side,
And so is me, myself, and I,
I am not alone,
For there are people just like me,
Out there in the world,
Farewell darkness of night,
Good morning bright sunlight,
A new day has begun,
With God right by my side,
I feel perfect,
For who I am today,
I am forever alone,
For I fear not loneliness,
Because loneliness is my best friend,
I will never be lonely,
For God is right beside me,
And so is me, myself, and I.
