This is a short story for someone who I once knew very well. I loved her and something happened that changed everything. She changed and I didn't like her anymore.

That girl, the one with beautiful hair, looks at the people who smile at her and laugh with her yet their faces seem distorted. She gives them weird looks trying to piece them together like a puzzle but ends up just scribbling all over it out of irritation. She hides from the people who look so distorted they look almost like demons. She runs from them.

She puts on a mask everyday that has a big smile and is as enthusiastic as a little kid. She makes silly faces in the mirror before brushing her teeth. She dances and sings sillily to her favorite songs. She gets over excited for things and keeps her chin high. She has fun in class and has fun at school. Just being alive is enough for her... But lately she doesn't want to be alive. What happened to this girl?

Now she can't even look at herself. She can't get out of bed to start a new day. She can't smile, get excited, skip, sing, dance. She just can't and it's hard for me to watch. But I can't do anything about it. I can't do anything at all. I am nothing.
