I woke up hearing a knock on the door.

"Lori? You in the bath? Its almost time for the party." She laughs as I jump a little. "Give me a sec Mel," i shout back as I jump out of the bath and dry myself down so my tail disappeared and my legs were back to normal.

I rush out and she hold a pair of red heels to match my newly tailored red dress.

"Were you sleeping? In the bath?" She asks surprised. "You were meant to meet me at my apartment an hour ago. When you didn't show I just let myself in. You have so much space!" She giggles as i follow behind her.

Mel was ready. She had both of our dresses, heels and make up ready to go. We both started to dress ourselves happily as we zip each other up and put on our heels.

The party was already starting and you could hear it echo through the city as the two of us begin to walk together hand in hand. We head up the elevator and onto the roof where the party was in full swing. It made me feel a little at home as it was loud, full of drinking and the music was so loud it almost drowned out everything else. I gesture to Mel that I would get our drinks but but once I've disappeared someone grabs my wrist a drags me to a dark corner of the room. It was the young man from this morning.

"What did you do to me?" He hisses. He had grabbed my wrist and twisted it behind my back so I was pinned, curse this beautiful dress.

"What do you mean?" I ask mildly panicked trying to think of ways to escape.

"Did you drug me? I remember us in the elevator kissing and heading to your apartment. Then flashes of blood and you..... YOU BIT ME!" he says shocked at what he's remembered. He doesn't get another word before a strong hand lifts him off me and throws him out the window....

I turn quickly to thank my saviour when I'm met with a suit of recently polished armour, the only indicator that someone was in it was the red eyes I could see through the suit. For some reason I was immediately hungry again, the sweetest smell of fresh blood wafting from him. I had to keep my breath steady as I fought to stay in control. My siren self was begging to be freed. Something about this creature was just so alluring, the man in the suit clearly could tell i was struggling as he tilted his head slightly

Kira quickly interrupts us, allowing me to get a breath and take control just as she presses a button and hes electrocuted with a bracelet on his wrist. "Bad Ventis." She says in a high pitched voice.

"STOP IT KIRA! You're hurting him." I say without thinking. Surprising myself how much I suddenly cared.

"He needs to be handled properly." She shrugs. "Not that you know anything about handling." She snorts as she drags him away. His red eyes still piercing in my soul.

Mel quickly finds me and pulls me to her side. "Is that Kira's new beast? Did he just throw someone out a window?!" She asks panicked as she examines the red mark on my arm. "He helped me." I say quietly. "He's still looking at you." She whispers. I shiver, I didnt need to look back, I could feel his glare, the red eyes burning into my neck aggressively.

"Let's just go." I whisper as people start to pull the man back through the window. I didn't need him pointing any fingers though he looked pretty concussed, hopefully he wouldn't remember anything.

We both quietly leave, Mel still glancing back at the chaos. "Maybe you should be his handler. No body would mess with you like that ever again."

"I work alone Mel. Taming ferals isn't my forte."

"Ferals? Why did you call him that?" She asks surprised

"Ventis its an ancient word meaning feral." I shrug.

"Ancient word? Like in the relicts? Aren't they a myth?" She asks concerned.

"Not a myth they're real. They were an old and advanced species. They had technology we can barely fathom now. They were incredibly skilled and powerful. But they died out centuries ago. Those old ruins we visit were once great relict cities." I say gently. Mel was clearly surprised by my knowledge.

"How do you know all this?"

"My mother. She taught me all about the relicts. I can even speak their old language along with being able to reading some."

"Do you think he is one of them?" She asks curiously. It makes me laugh when I look up to see her scared face.

"Thats impossible." I shrug as we walk to my apartment. "Anyway I have to go visit home tomorrow so I'll see you in 3 days." I hug her tightly.

"Already? It feels like you go back every month." She says. "And you're always exhausted and bruised after." She adds.

"Wild night with my sisters. Plus I need to talk to mother." I say gently, with a soft smile and she hugs me again and leaves as I close the door and immediately run for my blood supply. I had a few emergency bottles as I down one in seconds. The suit the man wore looked so familiar, but i still couldn't place it. And a relict hadn't been seen for a millennia it wasn't possible he was one. Unless he was......

I shake my head that wasn't possible. Its a children story. The feral prince was just a story. That was just a man in the suit. He was staring at me enough to prove that. No man could resist me. I think with a hair flip.

I began to undress knowing I have a long swim ahead of me to be back in time for blood moon on Siren Island. I couldnt afford to release my siren self on the main land. She was dangerous and would cause more blood shed. She could run the streets of warrior red with blood and no mortal would be safe.

I lie down in my bed preparing to sleep. With two swift claps the lights go out and I close my eyes for a restless sleep.
