A CASUAL NIGHT
"Ma'am nandito na po tayo." The driver told me. I looked outside and there it was,the biggest Hotel in the metro standing tall and proud. The busiest Hotel in the busiest streets of Manila.
I paid for my ride and gave a tip to the driver. Nag alangan pa akong i abot sakanya yun. I know that something is definitely wrong and I'm gonna find out exactly what it is. Whatever that glitch was, I know that it was not supposed to happen.
What's happening to me. Is it just in my head? Am I going crazy??
The driver asked me. I tried my hardest to keep my face calm, stoic and still.
"No need. I can handle it." I told him while getting my luggages out of his car's trunk. I saw in my peripheral view that for a few seconds he was just there staring at me as if I did something to offend him.
I don't need anybody's help. This is a piece of cake, really.
The driver finally decided to let me do my thing and as if it was a cue, when I got all of my luggages out from his car he finally drove away.
I took a deep breathe and stared at the facade of the building for a few minutes while tightly gripping the handle of one of my luggages. Last minute contemplating.
Ughh! Whatever! I decided to give in. I can afford the luxury anyway. And besides, malapit lang dito yung next target. Wala naman sigurong magiging problema diba? Let's see.
I went inside the hotel, there was a lot of people in the lobby. Matanda, bata, babae at lalaki sa ano mang edad, you name it. Parang melting pot ang lugar na ito. As I was walking in I was greeted by the guards and some of the building's staff. I went directly to the front desk to check in.
I asked the front desk if there was any available room and to my luck, there was! A lot of rooms actually.
I checked in in a room and before she could give me the keys to my room I noticed that she was eyeing my bags and luggages so I told the lady in the front desk that I won't be needing help with them. She was suspicious of me.
Not a good sign.
"Are you sure Ma'am? We would very much like to help you to ensure comfort in your whole stay here Ma'am." God, she talks too much. Just let me go to my room already!
"I said I'm fine! I don't need your help and please, if anybody tells you that I'm related with them and want to get my personal information, that's when you call for help. I have no one with me and no guests in my whole stay here." I told her and went straight inside an elevator.
I feel uncomfortable talking to her. Parang, she'll be a threat. And that's never a good thing. I need to be wary!
This Hotel had a lot of CCTV cameras. What do you expect? This is probably the most famous hotel here, thus many tourists and high profiled personalities come here.
My room was in the 38th floor. Pretty low considering the height of this hotel, damn it. I wanted to be closer to the rooftop, what a bum.
The elevator door opened and I immediately went looking for my room, which was pretty close to the elevator and so I'didnt
really need to sweat finding my room in this floor.
