Chapter 40

Mia's POV

Today is the day we are moving to LA. It was two months ago today when Luke told me about his plans to move and I couldn't be more ready for this move. Our flight is tonight but before we leave I have a doctors appointment. I'm so excited because we get to find out the gender today and it's also the first time Luke will get to see the baby. I have started showing quite a lot now so I've resorted to wearing baggy clothing to try and hide the bump as much as I can as my pregnancy is still not public.

"Cmon we are going to be late," Luke says as I finish curling my hair.

"Fine I'm all done," I announce and slip on my converse.

"Finally," he teases placing a kiss on my cheek. "I'm just eager to find out what it's going to be so we can call it he or she instead of it."

"Let's go then," I laugh.

Luke drives us to the clinic and we arrive just in time.

"Mia Harris," Sue, the doctor that I saw last time, calls me into her office.

"Nice to see you again," I say as I take a seat in her office.

"You too, this must be daddy," she asks looking at Luke.

"Yeah I'm Luke," he says shaking her hand.

"Alright Mia hop up on the bed and we can begin."

She begins the ultrasound and checks all the normal stuff.

"This is so cool," Luke says while holding my hand.

"I know," I gush.

"Everything is perfectly fine and you're at twenty weeks," she smiles. "Would you like to know the gender?" She asks.

Luke and I both nod our heads with big smiles on our faces. She moves the ultrasound scanner around a bit before telling us.

"You guys are having a girl congratulations," she beams. I couldn't contain my happiness as a couple of tears escaped. On the other hand Luke was smiling from ear to ear.

"We're having a baby girl," he pecks my lips.

"I told you so," I smirk. He rolls his eyes at me before his smile returns.

"Thank you so much," I say to Sue as we leave the clinic.

"You're very welcome sweetie," she replies waving.

We walk out of the clinic hand in hand.

"I can't believe this," I gush when we get into the car. I dial my mums number and hold the phone up to my ear.

"Hello," she answers.

"Hey mum," I chirp.

"How did the appointment go?" She asks.

"Great we found out what we're having."

"Really?! Tell me," she practically screams into the phone.

"A girl," I say quietly.

"Yay a granddaughter," she gushes. "Gina and I can spoil her rotten when you guys come visit."

I continue talking to her off a little before I say goodbye.

"You could say my mum is overly excited," I tell Luke as I dial Gina's number. I decide to put my phone on speaker so Luke can talk as well while he is driving.

"Hello," she answers on the third ring.

"Hey Gina," I say.

"Hi mum," Luke yells.
