(Octavia's POV)
When the paramedics came into my apartment, I was still in the fetal position with Echo in my arms, she hissed at the paramedics at first but once she realized what they were here to do, she stopped. She's my little protecter sometimes.
"Hi, I'm Patrick and this is my partner Juniper. Can you tell me your name?" The paramedic Patrick asks.
I just lay there unmoving and not talking. Echo meows while looking at my wallet, they take the hint and the paramedic Juniper picks it up.
"Can we look at you ID?" She asks
I nod my head slowly.
She looks at my ID and shows it to Patrick.
"Ok Octavia were gonna put a blanket over you and help you onto the gurney. Is that ok?" Patrick asks.
"What about Echo?" I ask in a whisper. "Shes my emotional support animal." I add in.
"She can come with us if you need her." Juniper tells me.
"Ok."
I get on the gurney with a little bit of help and they place a grey blanket over me and picked up Echo and placed her on my chest so I can hold on to her so she doesn't run, although she's not much of a runner anyways.
The ride to the hospital is silent, with me petting Echo, as she purrs.
They get me into a room and a doctor comes in after a few more minutes.
"Hello, I'm doctor Tex, I'm gonna have some nurses come in to get the kit ready so we can get things started and hopefully we can find the asshole who did this to you. Is there anyone we can call for you?" Doctor Tex asks.
"My sister." I whisper my eyes on Echo.
"Can I get her name and number please?" He asks handing me a notepad and pen.
I scribble down my sisters name and number and he leaves for a few minutes.
Me and my sister are twins, shes my best friend, ever since the womb. She lives with her boyfriend, they've been together for over a year and a half, and they truly love each other, I see it everytime I go see her, which is almost once a week.
There's a knock on the door, right before Doctor Tex comes in.
"I called your sister, her boyfriend is bringing her and they are on their way, are you ready to get this over with?" He asks.
I didn't even realize the nurses had come in to set up. That was quick.
I nod my head and he has me put my feet in stirrups so he can get samples. Once he's done with that he has someone come in to take pictures of all the bruises, I keep telling myself it's for the investigation and thats why they're doing it. It doesn't make it better though.
As they finish my sister comes in, her boyfriend following behind. She rushes to my side after assessing me and wraps me in a tight hug.
"Echo, shes in the corner shes been a good girl through this whole thing." I tell her.
She grabs Echo from the corner and sets her on the bed with me being careful. Echo snuggles into my side.
The doctor and nurses leave the room while Venelope sits down in the chair beside the bed, her boyfriend Cedar sitting on the couch behind her.
"Do you know when you can leave?" Venelope asks.
"No, they haven't said. They've only done the kit thingy." I tell her. "They said they were gonna have an officer come in to question me about what happened."
"Don't worry, you have me and Echo, we'll take care of you." She says nicely.
To prove her point Echo climbs onto my chest and snuggles into me more, and purring.
A few minutes later there's another knock on the door, and the doctor comes in, a police officer right behind him.
"Hey Octavia, this is Officer Knox. He's here to ask you some questions." He tells me.
I nod my head, and look at Venelope, sbe holds her hand out to me and I hold onto it while the officer walks into the room fully.
"Octavia can you recount to me what happened?" Officer Knox asks me.
I tell him what I can remember while holding tightly to Venelope's hand.
"Is there anything else you can remember? Do you remember what he looked like?" He asks.
"He had a mask on so I don't know what he looks like, but I can remember his voice." I explain
"Ok if we have anymore questions we will call you." He tells me and leaves the room.
"You're staying with me until this guy has been caught and is in jail." Venelope states.
I don't argue not wanting to go back to that place anytime soon.
"Yeah you're welcome to stay as long as you need to, Tavvy." Venelope's boyfriend tells me.
"Ok."
The doctor comes in again with a nurse, the nurse checks my vitals before leaving.
"We're gonna keep you over night, to make sure you are alright, and to make sure you don't have a head injury, hopefully in the morning if all is well you can leave." He explains to me.
"Can I take a shower?" I felt dirty and didn't like it.
"Yeah go ahead I'll have a nurse bring in a new gown for you." He says and leaves.
Venelope helps me out of the bed, and into the bathroom, Echo goes over to Cedar and lays down on the couch with him.
I wash up in the shower and once clean, Venelope helps me out and helps me get the gown on.
I get back into the bed, with Echo.
"I'm gonna go to sleep, yall can stay if yall want, yall can sleep on the couch." I tell them and get as comfy as I can in a hospital bed.
"Ok."
Venelope and Cedar lay on the couch and I turn out the light with the light switch on the remote and we all go to bed.
I can't wait to leave this hospital tomorrow.
