(Octavia's POV)
I woke up the next morning with Echo in my back, I had to reach back to move her, it was a little uncomfortable.
I look at the couch and notice Cedar and Venelope just waking up.
"Hey, how'd you sleep?" She asks me
"It was alright, the nurses kept coming in and out of the room last night and kept waking me up like every hour." I explain.
"Damn I slept through all of that." She mumbles to herself.
"I'm not surprised, you're a heavy sleeper and they weren't loud. So...."
There's a knock on the door right before Doctor Tex comes in.
"Hello Octavia, We're gonna run some more tests, and then if everything is clear we will let you go home." He smiles while explaining everything.
"I'm just ready to get out of this place." Doctor Tex nods and slowly leaves the room.
They took blood to run some tests, when the test results came back, doctor Tex enters the room.
"The results are back, they're negative so you can leave. But take it easy, and in two to three weeks I want you to come back for a follow up." He explains to me.
"When can I leave." I ask.
"The nurse is working on your discharge papers now." He tells me "If you have any pain anywhere just take tylonel and ice that area." He adds on.
"Ok." I blush.
He leaves the room and Venelope has Cedar take Echo and go out to the car and bring it to the front doors.
"Shit." I exclaim. "I need to call Cora."
"Here use my phone." Venelope hands me her blue Samsung and I take it dialing Cora's number.
"Tavvy, where are you?" Cora asks as soon as she answers, she knows I use my sisters phone sometimes when mine is dead.
"I'm so sorry, I meant to call but I forgot my phone at the apartment. Something happened and I'm at the hospital about to be discharged. I may not be able to come in for a couple weeks, I'm sorry." I explain.
"What happened? Are you ok?" She asks worriedly.
I take a deep breath and shut my eyes to explain what happened.
"Oh goodness, I'm so sorry. I'll get someone to cover your shifts, and when you're ready to come back let me know." She tells me.
"Ok. Thank you." I hang up the phone and hand it back to Venelope.
The nurse comes in and after setting up an appointment for the fifteenth of August we are able to leave.
We climb into Cedar's car and head to my apartment to grab some clothes and my tooth brush and phone, and all the other necessary things.
At the apartment Cedar stays in the car and Venelope comes up with me. I come to a stop at where the incident happen, I couldn't breath, everything was becoming hard to see, I didn't understand what was happening, Venelope grabs my hand and drags me to my room where I break down into tears. She holds me to her chest and comforts me, I calm down after about twenty minutes and grab my suitcase and stuff everything I need for myself and for Echo and rush out the apartment so I don't have another panic attack.
Venelope helps me take all my things to the guest room, while Cedar gets Echo.
I set everything up in the room including Echo's food and water bowls and I put her litter box in the bathroom connected to the guest room.
Venelope and Cedar leave the room and I sit on the bay window, my legs up to my chest and my arms over cross them looking out at the street below, wondering why this happened to me.
Echo lays on the bed and falls asleep.
"Silly kitty." I smile.
☆☆ A couple weeks later☆☆
I've been staying with Venelope and her boyfriend for two weeks now, I have my follow up in just over a week away and I've decided to go back to work.
"Are you sure you're ready? Its ok if you're not." Venelope tries to persuade me not to go to work, she' just worried about me.
"I'm ready sissy, I promise. If I get overwhelmed I'll tell Cora. She's already agreed to let me sit in the office if I do. I'll be fine." I assure.
"Ok, I'll drop you off and pick you up." She states without room to argue.
We leave my room, me saying bye to Echo and her kissing her boyfriend and we leave the apartment and head to the car.
"TAVVY, WE'VE MISSED YOU." I arrive to work, Cora attacking me into a tight hug.
"I've missed you guys to." I giggle.
"Ok, so I have videos for you to watch, I don't want you doing much today to strain yourself." She explains and leads me to the office.
I log into the computer and go to the training videos I have to finish watching to be a manager.
"I have an appointment next week on the fifteenth." I tell her.
"Ok. Thats fine."
I get thirsty while watching a video and decide to grab a drink. I get up slowly, and head over to the drink station to get pepsi to drink.
I see the customer from those many weeks ago and stop, my heart racing in my chest again.
"Hey." He smiles at me.
"Hey." I greet back.
"Haven't seen you in a couple weeks." He says confusion written on his face, "almost thought you were fired or something."
"I was just on vacation, spending some quality time with my sister." I laugh it off and trying to ignore my racing heart.
Easton, one of my coworkers hands him his order, and walks away to get the next persons order.
"I'll see you later then?" He asks me.
"I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere." I smile at him.
He smiles back at me, while exiting the restraunt.
Damn he's cute.
I go back to the office with my pepsi in hand and sit back infront of the computer.
"What was that all about?" Zoya startles me.
"Jeesh woman how many times have I told you not to come up behind me like that." I grumble.
Zoya is our work gossiper, if she finds out anything worth talking about she tells someone. She can be a little annoying at times but we still love her and keep her around.
"About ten times I think." She answers.
"Well heres eleven, don't come up behind me." I grumble some more.
"So you gonna tell me what that was about?" She asks.
"How can I explain it when I don't understand it yet either, knowing my luck he has a girlfriend already and he's just being nice." I pout.
"Oh, well that sucks. Well I gotta get back to work before Cora bites my head off." She giggles and walks away.
I get back to my videos, and groan. This is so boring.
I finish my videos and let Cora know.
"Ok. You can have Venelope come pick you up." She tells me knowing I don't drive, and not wanting anything to happen on my way home.
Venelope picks up on the first ring.
"Hey whats up?" She asks.
"You can come pick me up, she just had me watch some videos for the training and now she's sending me home."
"I'm on my way."
We hang up and I sit in the lobby listening to my music while waiting for her.
I see the customer come in as I'm waiting and smile.
"Hey, are you leaving?" He asks
"Yeah, I'm just waiting for my sister to pick me up."
"Ok" he walks up to the front counter to order then comes back over to me and sits down infront of me.
"Well hi again." I mumble.
"Hi." He smiles.
"Shouldn't you be at work or something?" I ask awkwardly.
"I'm on break." He says.
"Oh, ok."
We sit in silence, he gets up to retrieve his order then sits down infront of me again.
'What is taking Venelope so long' I think to myself.
"Since you want to sit with me, whats your name."
"Easton."
"I'm Octavia, Tavvy for short." I see my sisters car outside and get up. "My sisters here and she's not very patient. Bye." I lie and leave.
I get into the car with Venelope.
"Who was that?" She asks as soon as i get into the front seat with her.
"Just a customer."
