Samsung is really stepping up to the plate now-a-days, and unlike other Android OEMs, Samsung is quickly jumping on the Android Jelly Bean upgrade train. In a recent announcement, Samsung notified users that they will be providing upgrades for Jelly Bean eligible devices.
The Galaxy S II recently got an update to ICS so the S II Jelly Bean upgrade may not be a priority for Samsung. However, the S II is more than capable for powering the latest Android and it will be a shame if Samsung decides to not provide official Jelly Bean support for its S III predecessor.

Samsung will soon announce which additional devices are eligible for the Jelly Bean update. As the world s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung leads the Android community with best-in-class devices like the Galaxy S III, and is creating new device categories with products like the Galaxy Note. Samsung has delivered the most Nexus- branded lead OS devices and we are pleased that Google will be bringing Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S customers the first experiences of Jelly Bean on a handheld device.

Eligible devices can mean anything more than two, three,
four, and maybe even all of Samsung s Android devices. As much as we hope that Samsung will provide Jelly Beans for many of its devices, it s also very unlikely that Samsung will put forth the resources to provide Android upgrades for its lineup of Android powered devices.
