"Oh shut up, would you?!" I groggily groaned to the person at the door.
"Open the door, then I'll shut it, you lazy piece o-" The female voice was cut off by a deep, masculine voice.
"Maya! We are welcoming this young woman, shut up!" The voice hissed the words, urgently. I heard a loud,
frustrated sigh a few moment later.I trudged to the door and swung it open. Behind it stood a boy and a girl. The girl was awfully short, and the boy was painfully tall. It was actually kind of a funny sight. Someone might have thought it was mean, but I didn't care. .
"Hi! My name is Sam, and this is Maya. We just wanted to introduce ourselves, hopefully before the-" The boy named Sam was cut off, which seemed to happen a lot between the two.
"Before the rabid she-devils themselves got to you, is basically what he was going to say." Maya smirked.
I chuckled at that a bit, but on the inside, old Skye was threatening to giggle.
"Well, thanks." I wasn't a woman of many words. That meant I liked them.
"No probs, girly!" Sam winked cheekily. I laughed breathily at that one.
"How is it so far, hon? How's your dorm?" Maya played along with Sam.
"Terribly. Umm, would you like to, uh, see my room?" Woah, where did that sudden politeness come from? I needed to start following my rules!
"Yeah, sure, miss..?" Sam trailed off, asking for my name while he made himself at home.
"Skye. Skye Adams." I grunted whilst I shoved some bags out of the way. "Sorry, it's a bit of a mess in here."
"Yeah, packing and all that, we get it. I'm relitively new here as well." Maya shared. Ah, so we were in the same boat.
"Heh, I've been here since I could walk and talk, and rub two brain cells together. So I'd be like your superior, Myes?" Sam jested.
Maya kicked him on the shin.
Well, he had it coming.
"Well, I guess we'll see you on Monday, I'm gonna beat the tar outta this loser." Maya waved a small wave and dragged Sam out of my room by the collar of his blazer.
"But then who'll replace me, your boyfriend?" Sam laughed, and she blushed.
"Shut up!" And then the oak door slammed, echoing into the dorm building.
I laughed at the outrageous couple.
Woah, only one day, and I've broken one of my rules.
Rule number 3: Don't get close to people. It'll only cause you heartache when they take their leave.
Darn. I truly liked them.
Well, I already have experience severing friendships. I can do it again.
__________________(Andy's POV)
I strolled down the halls of the school, my head still being rattled by the girl from earlier. She was definitely the one everyone had been talking about, but she was absolutely stunning, unlike what was expected.
Heads were turning as I walked by, and I tried to act normally and diplomatically. I sent charming smiles around to the ladies, and high-fives to the guys, but for some reason, I couldn't carry out with the charisma today. I suppose I was just shell-shocked from the beautiful girl.
She was also very sassy.
I liked that, I think?
I shook my head, feeling a headache forming. She was just a new glass of water, that's why she interested me.
Yeah, that was it. All girls were the same, just pre-packaged holders of sugar, spice, but definitely not everything nice.
Everything crazy, with a hint of icy anger.
Yeah, that's it.
I made it to my dorm, and unlocked the door to see Sam and his current girlfriend, Maya, making out on a couch.
Sam wasn't a player in any way, shape, or form, but he's had a few girlfriends here and there. When he wasn't with someone, he would tease the dumb girls at our beloved school.
"Hey lovebirds!" I suddenly threw out, hoping to scare them. It worked, and they jumped apart. Maya looked embarrassed and mad, and Sam just stuck his tongue out at me.
"Well I think that's my cue to leave, see you tomorrow, Sam. Bye, Andy." Maya hurried out, hoping to leave soon.
"I'm picking you up for dinner at 7 tomorrow. Wear something nice and don't bring a penny." He pecked her on the cheek, and she spun around and walked out.
They seemed like they didn't get along very well, but they really liked each other. I could see it in their eyes.
"So dude, I met the new girl today." Sam told me, making me embarrassed at my memory of her.
"So did I." I grumbled. "Dude, I walked straight into a wall when I saw her."
"Yeah, she's no Angelina Jolie, but come on, she-" I cut him off.
"No, no, no, I mean I was so stunned by her looks that I walked into the wall. Then I was stunned by her attitude." I chuckled.
"So you think she's pretty, eh?" Sam smirked.
"Shut up." I groaned.
"Whatever, you bitter old grouch, I have a test to study for." He smiled.
"And I will stay here, grouching it up like a free, single man." I responded. "You really like her, huh?"
"Yeah, I do."
