He was lost in his thoughts. The light grey eyes were staring at the dark grey sky, glazed by the depth of his thoughts.

She was awestruck. Was he really just a human like her? It seemed like an absurd thought to put him on the same level as humans. He was much too beautiful. His dark hair, a stark contrast to his pallid complexion, the contours of his face, and the ever-gracious stature had wholly enraptured her. He was art.

She could not help but submit to the vision he presented. And as he turned to look at her, the frown dropped into a smile, and she could swear that she lived a million lifetimes and died a million times when he looked at her like that.

Although the smile adorned his face, his eyes still had a faraway look. It broke her heart to see him this way; the choices thrust upon him crushed him. He was crumbling. She could see that, but her hands were tied. She had sworn that she wouldn't try to help.

Such a silly pact, she cursed herself for making that particular oath. He knew she'd go to immeasurable lengths for him, and he had extracted the promise he needed.

She could dance with his heart and love his body, but his mind and soul, she could not have.

The visions of a harrowing future without him haunted her. She had somehow classically and spectacularly fraternized with the enemy who really did not seem like one. The bloodshot eyes and the grey of his skin appeared to reflect his inner dilemma. She knew he had had a change of heart.

But what of mind?

She cursed herself for being so foolish. Was she crazy? But maybe, she needed that insanity to admire the masterpiece he was. She reveled burning in his wake.

But what of the world?

Like him, she was torn. Should she give in and flee the lands and skies with him or should she stand with the good ones and fight, well, him. She found herself questioning the idea of the good side or the bad. She had, no, was seeing him struggle. How many others? Was it really as clean-cut as they made it out to be?

War blurred all lines, it mixed black and white into a hazy smudge.

She found his grey eyes. War was blurring him.

And it made her furious.
