In a land with no name, in a small town with no name, a small girl was born with magic in her veins.

This was before magic was so common so the energy radiating from the small girl made people fearful and she was shunned by her peers.

Her own parents abandoned her in the middle of nowhere to be eaten by dragons.

All this before she was even two.

She cried and cried until eventually even her young mind understood that no one was coming.

Of course right then the ground below her rumbled as something massive started moving right behind her.

The small toddler could barely move, when a massive yellow eye with a slit pupil like a cats, or on this case like a dragons, looked down on her.

The dragon was named Gaia(pic↓ ).

The massive eye blinked and the girl blinked in return before she giggled reaching her small arms out

The massive eye blinked and the girl blinked in return before she giggled reaching her small arms out.

The dragon looked at the girl in wonder and awe, taken in by her radiant smile the dragon decided to raise this hatchling.

Once the girl was old enough to understand the Dragon she was given a name, Ramona Garner.

And the dragon started teaching her magic, Nature (Dragon Slayer) Magic.

~~~~~
"Kaa-san what's war?" Ramona asked one night watching the stars with Gaia.
The dragon seemed to frown "War is a terrible thing, the land cries out in agony as men and dragons ravage it and for such a silly thing as moving on versus staying still" she sighed.
"Where do you stand?" Ramona asked.
"My stance doesn't matter, nature will always endure and so will i" Gaia said.
Ramona hummed to herself thinking over her mothers words.
~~~~~

Ramona had gone into town, which she doesn't do often as she can find anything she needs to survive in the forest, heck she had even been lucky enough to have a run in with a kind merchant who gave her clothes.

She wasn't quite sure what drove her to visit town on that day but there was just something off about today, she shrugged it off however and continued wandering around.

Until she nearly ran into someone, she would have had not been for her quick reflexes.

"Whoa close call, sorry" she smiled and gave a small bow as the person she avoided walked on by.

As she watched them go, she noticed the near run in she had was with a man, about her age, maybe a few years older.

The man had blue hair and tanned skin and he wore tattered clothes and had bare feet.

The man looked skinny, like he hadn't eaten in days and from the sway in his walk she could also tell he was exhausted, she quickly caught up to him walking along at his side.

"Uhm everything alright sir?" she asked concerned.

The man did not respond but he did stop walking, she looked him in the eye and her breath hitched, she had never seen such blue eyes.

Those eyes rolled to the back of his head and the man collapsed but Ramona was quick to catch him, he was surprisingly light, or maybe she was just strong, either way she now had an unconscious man in her arms and she wasn't sure what to do.

She did not trust the towns people would help, she could sense this man had magic within him and she remembered how they had treated her.

Ramona bit her lip in thought, her mother could help but she was out hunting at the moment besides it didn't seem as though the man was injured, then it came to her, there was one place.

~~~~~
'Where am i? It doesn't hurt anymore, was it all a dream?'
The haze cleared up as the man blinked his eyes open, only to be met with the blue sky, had all of it truly been a dream?
"Oh you're awake" the man looked over to the voice and he saw a young woman with brown hair and green eyes with a beautiful and gentle smile and he blushed a bit.
He tried to sit up but the brunette was quick to push him gently back down "Try not to move, you still need to recover" she said.
The man did as he was told and laid back down, the haze in his mind clearing up as he remembered the attack on his home by the guardian sworn to protect it.
His hand clenched into a fist, that damnable Acnologia and all the other dragons, he remembered his vow to kill them all, to learn dragon slayer magic and gain everything.
He remembered wandering around aimlessly ignoring his need for food and water as he searched for someway to learn dragon slayer magic without having to rely on a dragon to teach him.
He had been unsuccessful, he would have died if it had not been for this woman "Thank you" he spoke braking the silence between them.
"You're welcome" the woman smiled and he felt his cheeks flush once more, but he quickly shook it off, no he wouldn't allow emotions to get in the way of his goal.
"So what happened to you anyway?" the woman asked.
He told her the full story as he found no reason to lie to her, he even told her of his vow to slay all dragons and gain everything.
"Are you stupid or something?" the woman asked him a look on her face and her brow quirked up.
"Huh? What do you mean?" the man asked.
"Gaining everything, go ahead and kill dragons all you like but you won't gain anything from it, just focus on what you do have" she told him.
The man frowned, slightly annoyed with her, "I have nothing, i lost it all or were you not listening?" he asked.
"I listened but you're wrong, you still have plenty of things, yourself, your humanity and you have me" the woman smiled at him.
The man blinked confused, he understood what she was saying but "We just met" he said "I don't even know your name, you don't even know my name" he said.
"So? But if you're curious my name is Ramona Garner, nice to meet you" the woman smiled and this time the man did not shake his blush away.
"What's your name?" Ramona asked him.
"My name is ..."
