The people of Uganda have this tradition. Every week they throw a party for seemingly no reason.
The missionaries of district nine are always invited to the party, and of course they cannot refuse the invitation so they go. Every. Week.

Kevin Price has always been very organized person and he likes things to be well planned. Parties like these were not something he liked that much. Just singing and dancing.

Kevin was sitting alone watching other people dance and have fun. He didn't know what to do so he just decided to sit and watch. Hopefully that's enough for the others.
He watched Arnold dance with a bunch of kids who seemed to be having time of their lives.

The mission itself wasn't going very well so far. They had been in Uganda for almost a year now. They had only managed to babtize few people.
They had to constantly hide from the general.
Arnold had been making things up again and was basically making up a whole new religion at this point. The missionaries had started to call it 'Arnoldism' which seemed to fit quite well.

Kevin was so deep in his own thoughts he didn't notice someone coming to sit next to him. He came back from his thoughts when he felt a hand on his shoulder. A familiar hand. A too familiar almost.

It was Connor.
Kevin's boyfriend.

They had started officially dating only two months ago.

"Hi, Kev" he said smiling.
Kevin looks at him and smiles back.
"Oh hi, Con".
"I didn't think you would come here. You don't like parties" Connor said and tilted his head a little.
"You're right, Con. I don't like parties. But I have already skipped few and I don't want to offend the Ugandan people. They invite us every week" Kevin explained.
Connor nodded and looked at the people dancing and having fun.
"Why aren't you there with those people? You like to have fun, Con" Kevin continued.
"I- uh- I don't really feel like dancing today. And I saw you sitting alone here so of course I came here. You're my boyfriend after all. Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
Kevin shrugged.
"Maybe because I decided to come after you all had already left. I wasn't gonna come but I also didn't feel like sitting alone at the house. And I couldn't see you when I came so I sat here"
Connor turned his head to look at Kevin. He nodded as an answer to Kevin's explanation.
Then he stood up and offered his hand to Kevin.
"Come on, Kev. Let's go" he said.
"I- I don't- dance. You know this" Kevin muttered.
Connor shook his head.
"No, silly. Let's go away from here. Let's go somewhere else. Just us two".
"I thought you wanted to st-"
"No. You look miserable here and I don't like that. Come on, little boy. Let's go"
"I'm older than you, Con"
"Only few weeks"
That made Kevin laugh a little. Kevin's nervous laugh made Connor always smile.

Kevin took Connor's hand and they left the party. The music was fairly loud so they couldn't escape that very easily but it didn't matter.
They were walking down the road back to the missionaries house. They were holding hands and smiling to each other. Connor wanted to start a conversation and break the silence. Even though it wasn't an awkward silence.
"So. Kevin. Have you- um- have you had any hell dreams lately?" he asked.
Weird question. Kevin thought.
He tried to think how to answer to the question.
"Well, I have been having those more now since I started dating a man" he said and smiled at Connor.
"So I am in them then" he said grinning.
"Oh yeah. You are always in them" Kevin replied letting a little laugh.
"Same. You are always in my hell dreams as well" Connor said.
"Heavenly Father must like us very much" Kevin said sarcastically.
"Oh don't be stupid, Kevin. He loves us. Even though we are in a relationship" Connor replied.
"Yeah I know"

They arrived at the mission house but didn't go inside. It was a beautiful evening so they sat outside watching the sunset.
Kevin laid down on the grass and Connor put his head over Kevin's stomach. Kevin ran his fingers through the ginger hair of his lover.
"I brought these" Connor said taking some candy out of his pockets.
Kevin smiled at him.
"When did you-"
"when I saw you sitting alone. I took some and came to talk you"
Kevin took a candy. It was so good.

They just sat there watching the sun go down. The distant voices and sound of music coming from the party was still going. Knowing what kind of parties those were, they weren't gonna stop anytime soon.
"Let's go inside, Con" Kevin said.
Connor nodded and sat up. Kevin stood up and offered his hand for Connor. He pulled Connor up a little too quickly and Connor almost fell over.
"Upss. Sorry, Con" he apologised but Connor was already laughing.

They went inside and Kevin laid down on the couch. Connor put the key away and went to the kitchen.
"What are you doing, sweetie?" Kevin asked looking at the ginger in the kitchen.
"I'm making us some popcorn" was the answer.
Kevin smiled to himself and waited.
Connor came back with a bowl of popcorn and he sat next to Kevin.
"Are we gonna watch a movie?" Kevin asked.
"Do you really think we are able to concentrate on a movie right now?" Connor laughed. Kevin agreed.
They started chatting about stuff that had happened so far that week. Since Connor was the district leader, he needed to know everything possible.
They shared some laughs thinking about stuff they had done and what Arnold had been coming up with recently.
Eventually the conversation turned into a bit more personal.
"When did you know you had a crush on me?" Kevin asked Connor. He couldn't believe he hadn't asked that before.
"Pretty much a week later after you and Arnold arrived. I thought you were really pretty when you stepped in through that door that day.
I had very bad hell dreams for months. And you were always there. Then I decided to not turn it off anymore and I told you that I have a crush on you and somehow you had a crush on me too" he explained and started laughing.
Kevin hugged him tight.
"I'm happy with the way everything turned out. And that the other elders are accepting" Kevin said.
Connor smiled and sighed.
"We haven't been very normal district so far anyway. Two elders dating each other and one elder basically making up a new religion. And we have babtized only eight people in nine months"
"Ten months" Kevin corrected.
"we have been here for almost a year, Connor"
"I know. And the next year is gonna be awesome since we are now a couple. But of course we still have to complete out missions with out mission partners. We don't need any worse hell dreams" Connor said.
"Yeah even tho we are dating, we can't forget the rules. We both know what happened when I broke the rule 72 during our first weeks here with Arnold" Kevin laughed remembering the very bad hell dream he got that night.
"Was I in it?" Connor asked.
"Yes you were. Even back then" Kevin replied and leaned in to give Connor a kiss.
"You wanted to change your mission location so badly" Connor reminded.
"Yeah. Good thing I didn't. Otherwise I wouldn't be dating this beautiful man in front of me" Kevin smiled at the district leader.
"You told me to turn the gay thoughts off though"
"That was back when I still though I was having hell dreams because of Steve. Turns out I was having them because of you and I realized I had a massive crush on you"
"Se the hell dream helped"
"You could say so".

After chatting and cuddling for an hour, the music stopped in the distance. The party was over. It also meant that the other Elders were coming back. It wasn't gonna be as quiet anymore.
Kevin and Connor sat on the couch as the door opened and all the others came in.
"Here you guys are" Elder Poptarts said not sounding surprised.
"We didn't see you two at the party and thought you probably left to have some alone time".

They all chatted for a while and then went to sleep. Next day was gonna be another day of trying to get Africans to join the church.
