Chapter Five

Darcy is a stupid asshole who has social issues.

Backspace.

If he wasn't too damn proud then maybe he'd-

Backspace.

Well, Elizabeth is not a fucking mind reader, she couldn't have-

Backspace.

Shit!

"Chris have you seen my-" Chels came yelling through my room asking for god knows what.

"Ssshhh" I yelled.

I got it.

Books are like sex.

That's what I think Elizabeth Bennet was thinking when she would finish a book after another, never once getting bored or feeling less enthusiastic. She was a person who valued feelings and was waiting to find a man who did too.

Most people would think that Jane was the sensitive, emotional child and that Elizabeth was the practical more realistic one. I do not think so. A person who reads is more likely to be more emotional. That person has read people's feelings and thoughts all together. He knows what it feels like to be in a certain scenario. That extra beat of the heart, those sweaty palms and the shiver that runs down your spine spreading to your whole body when meeting a certain person. Elizabeth was that person. And maybe that's why she is my favorite fictional character of all times. Well, in this case of all books.

She would think she would get enough.

"One more chapter ". She would say. Books were addictive; you would not put it down unless you finished the whole thing.

 Just like sex.

You would never be satisfied with just one touch. You would always want to go all the way.

Sometimes, it would hurt- not physically- but emotianlly. You think that you've found who you are looking for, who you are willing to go all the way with. Only to have your hopes crushed and your dreams vanished. Their eyes would hold so much promises and passion, you would believe them, for you to know that it was all an act. You letting your guards down for one second ,is risky in this black, heartless world. People are double faced, with million opposite intentions.

In this case, Books are the exact opposite. They are always open, with a description to read. You know what you are going to find in there. They might take you off guard with a plot twist or hidden details but it would never actually hurt you.

I think Elizabeth let her guards down only twice.

First, when she is reading.

Second, when she met him.

This is how I picture her, lying on a straw bed with her hair sprawled behind her. She would hold a book and lazily turn its pages with just one finger; she would lose herself in the world of love, lust and desire.

Never had she thought that her clear mind would soon be disturbed by a certain arrogant man, or that her days and nights would no longer be hers but would then be owned by a proud soul.

She hated him. Despite his good looks and clever eyes, his arrogant silence and proud, big headed mouth made up for it.

She hated him in a way she never did to anyone, it intrigued her so much that she started watching him intently when he was around and constantly think about him when he is not. She fell for him.
