Chapter 28

Kiana

August woke me up and it's like 7 in the morning . I got up and went in his old bathroom to do my morning routine.

Ms. Shiela insisted on us stayin here since she had more than enough room here and August's old room was still in place. When I was done and put on some random clothes, I went downstairs to finish helping Ms. Shiela cook.

I'm gonna change when people start comin over, so I wasn't worried.

"Good morning Ms.Shiela."

"Good morning baby."

"What you cookin now?" I asked.

"The coleslaw and then I'm done. My son Travis gon be over in a lil while so that he can barbecue."

"Okay, need help?"

"Not really, you can stir the pots for me though something easy so you won't get tired with that pregnant belly" I nodded and laughed then walked over to the stove, stirrin the pots.

She is a really nice woman I see why August wants to come out here every chance he gets. When everything was done, people started coming and I went upstairs to change.

I took out my flatiron and started flat ironin my weave.Upset that my hairstyle didn't come out how I wanted it to, I put half of it up in a ponytail to the back. When I was done I got my makeup and started so I could hurry.

August walked in the room and looked at what I had on.

"Dats what you wearin?" He asked.

"Mhm." He scrunched up his face as I looked at him through the mirror.

"What's wrong with this ?" I asked confused.

"Dis." He grabbed my butt.

"Is pokin."

"That's not my fault everything poking"

He walked out and went towards his closet. I wasn't worryin bout him so I continued my makeup. He came back and wrapped one of his jackets around my waist.

"Really babe?"

"Yeah. Dat way ain't nobody gon be lookin atchu." I picked up my mess and started to take the jacket from around my waist but August stopped me.

"Why you takin it off?"

"Ion want to wear your jacket I got one."

"Oh aight." I playfully rolled my eyes and sat on his bed.

"What you wearin?" I asked him.

"Some pants and a shirt." He put on his clothes and shoes on and then walked over to his bags. He put on his jewelry and straightened out his shirt.

Making my way downstairs, where it seemed like everybody in the neighborhood was. I looked all downstairs for August but he was nowhere in sight.

I went in the backyard and found him talkin to some people before he got up and went to the cooler.

"Babe I was lookin for you."

"Mhm." He grabbed a beer and closed the cooler.

"What's wrong?"

"You ain't want me lookin atchu so don't talk to me."

"Seriously August...tripping over something from like minutes ago..."

"Yup." He started walkin away. I rolled my eyes and went back inside.

I wasn't expectin her to walk away. I thought she was gon stop me or somethin but I don't even know where she went. I brought my brotha his beer and went inside to look for Kiana.

Damn she walk fast. I found her sittin at the table in the kitchen with my mama and I sat next to her. She looked at me rolled her eyes before goin back to havin a conversation with my mama.

"Mama let me talk to Kiana right quick." She nodded and looked away. I sat quiet lookin at her, waitin fa her to get out so I can talk.

"I hope you ain't think I was gon get up." She laughed. I grabbed her hand and brung her back upstairs to my old room.

"Baybeh I was playin."

"That wasn't funny August you know I don't know nobody here."

"You mad?"

"Nah." She said sarcastically.

"Of course I am ."

I pulled her on my lap and kissed her cheek. "Don't be mad at me." She stayed quiet and got on her phone.

"Baybeh." I grabbed her phone and pouted.

"Forgive me." I kissed all over her face and she smiled. I grabbed her chin gently and made her look at me.

"Fagive' me?"

"Mhm."

"Aight now lemme introduce you to my people."

"All them people down there yo people?"

"Yup but most of em that ain't here not comin."

I'm glad most of my family ain't comin cause my cousins can be very mean and messy. They would mess witchu and talk shit jus' cause they don't like you. Messy ass folk.My only cousins that she know so far is the twins.

"Okay come on." She started to walk away but I pulled her back and she stood in between my legs.

"Gimme kiss." She pecked my lips and I frowned lookin at her.

She kissed my lips and I kissed her back. Then she pulled away and started walkin out da do'. I got up and fixed my clothes followin behind her. She already met my mama so Ima introduce her to Travis and Chandra next.

"Aye Trav dis Kiana. Kiana dis my brotha' Travis."

"This you bro?" He asked.

"Yea."

"Nice to finally meet you Kiana."

"Same here." She said smilin. She held her hand out so he can shake it but he pulled her into a hug instead. After talkin to Trav for a while, she went to use da bathroom and I went sat by Chandra and da girls when I saw em.

"You brought your crush?" She joked. I haven't talked to her about Hazel since about 5 months ago when I first started catching feelings for shawty and I took my nieces out to the movies with Tink.

"Yea she hea she went to da bathroom." When she came back outside, Kayden spotted her first.

"Kiana!" She ran to her. Chandra turned around and looked at her.

"She's pretty and pregnant ."

"Duh I told you that." Kiana walked over with Kayden and hugged Amaiya and Chaylin.

"Chandra dis Kiana, Kiana dis Chandra."

"Hey nice to meet you." Kiana said.

"Likewise."

By the end of da night Kiana had met everybody and they loved her, but they was upset when they seen she was pregnant well at least some of them. But, it's none of they business.

They all went home and it was just me, Kiana, my mama, and Travis, but Kiana was upstairs.

"That girl is a keeper, you betta wife her before somebody else do." My mama spoke up.

"Yup. She respectful and way better than them ho-" Travis started but corrected his self. "....girls you used to bring here."

"I will soon."
