Starry Night
My body stayed numb as I re-read the words on the text for the millionth time. I was trying to print them into my brain it seemed. When I first saw them, my heart stopped. Until I re-read them, again and again and again. Now my heart pumped faster than it would if I ran 10 miles. And that's definately saying something, considering I absolutely loathe running. I collapsed onto my bed, unable to stand up anymore. There, clear as ever were on my phone in white tiny letters stated,
'I'm coming back.
- Nate'
Someone up there must really hate me.

He brought me to our tree house. On the outside it looked like a normal kids tree house, but on the inside... My dad had nailed a forest green carpet into the floor. There were hundreds of photos of us pinned up on the walls. The flat metal roof was painted nearly navy blue with thousands of tiny shining silver stars. We spent every other weekend sleeping out here, rain or shine. I plopped down on my electric blue bean bag chair. He smiled at me, though it never reached his extraordinary bright blue eyes. I knew something had been troubling him the last few days, but I hadn't pressured him to tell me. He always did eventually. He had told me earlier this morning he needed to talk to me. I figured that he was going to tell what's up with him. He always tells me important things in the tree house. I bounced my right knee nervously, as I always did. He noticed and rolled his eyes at me, trying to ease the tension. I watched the reddish-pink scab- I'd gotten from hitting my knee on the side of pool edge a few days ago- become a blur as my knee went faster. Nate cleared his throat, trying to get my attention. I looked up so quick, I got a crick in my neck. He laughed at me, and I poked him on his firm stomach, wrinkling my nose up. He sighed, and whispered, his gorgeous eyes leaving me, "I'll really miss you, Starry." My grey eyes widened hugely and my breath stopped, as he frowned at me. "I'm moving, Starry. To England." I swear, my head was spinning so bad, I just about fainted. He gripped my arms lightly. Involuntarily salty tears overflowed from my widened eyes. Nate pulled me into his way-too-muscled-for-a-14-year-old arms. They were strong and so comforting, that I collapsed into them. He whispered 3 words that would haunt me for years, "I love you."
