                                                            Chapter One

I woke up from my dream/nightmare filled sleep. Though, I wouldn't actually call it sleep considering I only got around three hours of out of conciousness sleep. I groaned tiredly and shut off my alarm clock-which was playing If I Die Young by The Band Perry- so hastily I knocked it off my nightstand in the process. I sighed desperately; how much more could my life get messed up?! I hastily fumbled for my scratched up, electric blue touch screen with a keyboard phone. As quick as my clumsy fingers could manage I flipped through to my texts and clicked on the message with a foreign number. The words were still there. Though after checking thousands of times, I barely had any doubts. I hadn't replied to him.

That was the first contact we've had since he left four years ago. Four dreadful, long, miserable years. My parents sympathized the first few days, but they were full of it after a week. They told me to get over it, but they didn't understand. No one did. Not even my best girl friend, Bella. And we seem to understand eachother perfectly, except for that.

I got up clumsily and lumbered into my lime green bathroom, and immeadiately splashed freezing cold water on my face. I sighed at the barely purple dips under my silvery-grey eyes. I guess I'll just have to use more cover-up. I brushed my teeth and did the basic hygene course. Then, it came to the make-up. It didn't help I looked like the living dead or a ghost-yeah, I'm that pale. I started with my skin applying natural powder under my eyes; it took out the purple a bit. I did the rest of the basics for my make-up; light eye-line, a bit of silvery eye shadow, lip gloss.

I internally groaned at my next activity; clothes. I'd basically lost all hope for looking good, but I tried to put together an okay outfit. I shrugged on a curve-hugging rusty red shirt and my favorite pair of dark skinny ripped jeans. I ran into the bathroom, lugging a brush through my dark, almost black hair.

I started running down the stairs, as fast I could, but slipped on 8th step and slid down to the bottom. I grimaced- that would hurt later. I pushed myself up and sulked my way into the kitchen. The toast popped out of the toaster with a click and I rushed to it, beating my older brother, Alex to it. He groaned as I took it out of the toaster, tossing it from side to side, to keep from burning my fingers. I swallowed it down in about four bites, while Alex gawked. He muttered something like, "And your supposed to be a girl.."

I smacked him and grabbed my back-pack and slid my black converses on and jumped into my silver convertible mustang. Did I mention my parents are a bit rich? I pushed my back-pack into the passenger seat with a plop and started racing to school.

He shouldn't be here for the next few days, since he just told me. Bella, greeted me at my normal parking spot. I faked a smile for her, but she saw right through it. I groaned inwardly; this was going to be a long day.

Showing her the text, she nodded with understanding and dropped the subject. I literally just got over him a year ago, and he just ruined all of that slow building to make a life again. Luckily, Bella and a few other of my friends welcomed me back warmly, though they never mentioned him, thank God. We hurried to our first class-which we have together- but Mr. Johnathan stopped us on the way. He was the language arts teacher, and naturally that was my best subject. I'm a horror at math. He looked at me, and smiled warmly, "Would you please assist the new student for the next few days, Ms.Moore?" He asked me. I could feel the color draining out of my face, he was already here!

No, he couldnt be here, your just overeacting. It's normal to get new students. It's impossible he's here already. You have an huge imagination, get over yourself. And if it is him, then you'll just have to face him anyway. Though that's still dreadful...

"Is that a problem, Ms.Moore?" A male voice interupted my thoughts. I nodded,

"Of course, Mr. Johnathan."

"Will you please see to him in the office, right now? Here's an excuse form for your first block." He handed me a note and walked off to his class room just as the bell rang. Bella gave me a careful smile and hurried off to first block. I sighed, examining the light blue lockers and cement grey walls. I looked down at the grey tiles. What a beautiful place to learn! Notice the sarcasm. I stalled getting to the office, dancing through the hallways-no one was there, alright! I then approached the ugly light wooden door and entered, taking a deep breath.

A plump blond woman with far too much make-up sat at the front desk, under the name, Ms. Tinklet. Everyone made fun of her name. She smiled at me with glossy red apple lips.

"What can I help you with, sweetheart?" She asked with a sugary polite voice. I smiled politely at her, trying not to fake vomit and laugh.

"I'm here to help the new kid." I answered, putting away my smile.

"He's-" She began to say, but a masculine husky voice interupted her.

"I'm right here." I froze, my back to him. I could feel my face had gone pale and it felt as if my blood had gone cold. My heart had stopped beating, like it had so many times before, when he caressed my cheek, or we had sleepovers in the tree hou- Stop! Don't torment yourself like that, living in those days. Someone cleared their throat, like he had many yea- He cleared his throat again and I turned to a smirking Nate.

"Hey, Starry."
