After reaching the place where Reaper and I first met, I go into the forest and collect what berries and nuts I can find. I decide that I would look for muscles when I get back in the water as another option. Herbs are also quite abundant in the area as I collect plenty of those as well. Diving back into the water, it isn't long before I find a large quantity of muscles that I knew about. Double checking to make sure everything is properly secured in my bag, I begin heading back. As I swim however, I start to notice just how close my cave was to where I encountered Outs in his cave.
Suddenly, the blue one from the day before passes by and blocks my path. Scooting back, I try to swim around them, but they keep me from passing.
"Look, I'm sorry for intruding yesterday. Now can I please get by?" Trying to pass yet again to only fail, they grab my wrist and start swimming towards the reef instead of away like yesterday. I monitor them as we swim and take time to look them over properly. His tail is one of the things that caught the most interest for me, as with most creatures I see. I'm alwais facinated by tails of ocean creatures in both senses of the word. His big, blue bow also catches my attention and eventually we come to a stop. He lets go and ask me to please wait and I comply, waiting patiently for whatever or whoever it is we may be waiting for.Wanting to break the silence, I introduce myself to him at last. "My name is Gear. And might I just say that your tail looks amazing." He gives a warm smile before responding. "Why thank you. My name is Blue. I suppose I should apologize for yesterday." I shake my head as I explain that he had every right to do what he did.
After some time, another coast monster approaches from around the reef and a small gasp escapes my lips. My heart pounds in excitement as a million questions swim through my mind. Everything I had ever read about him was simultaneously out the door, and flooding into my thoughts. I was at a complete loss for words when he spoke up.
"Hello. It has been brought to my attention that you were in our waters yesterday. Correct?" I try to calm myself down before answering as best I can without stuttering. "Yes sir. I was exploring and met both Outs and Ink. My name is Gear." My voice cracked once or twice and I could feel my face warming up with a light blush of embarrassment. "Ink spoke to you? How interesting. However, that does not excuse you entering our waters Gear. As a human, you should know the rules." I nod and try to further explain without mentioning Reaper. However, I can't seem to be able to convince him otherwise.
"Please sir, I'm only here because Reaper warned me that I wasn't safe where I was." At the mention of his name, their tone changes to that of interest. "Reaper you say? How odd. And why would he help you?" I give a simple shrug, having never gotten a detailed answer myself. Blue turns and begins whispering to him. As I wait there silently, I am able to properly baske in the glory that hovers in the water before me. All the stories and legends come to me at a much slower pace than before. My heart begins pounding again the more I watch him and think about it all. However, my thoughts are interupted as they turn back to me and Blue speaks.
"Do you know who this is." He gestures to the other and with a deep breath, I calmly respond. "Yes. Dream, ruler of the coast monsters. It is a pleasure to meet you sir." I give a gentle bow, having practiced many times before while under water. He gives a small smile in response as I slowly get up. "As you know, Blue and I just finished speaking with one another, and have come to a desition. You may explore the reef and coast as you wish, but you must wear the outfit Blue described as you having worn before, and be cautious around Ink. Understand?" I give a curt nod and smile brightly. He then offers his hand to me and I happily take it, shaking it as a silent oath to abide by the rules and never bring harm to those of the coast. My eyes sparkle as we hold eye contact before letting go.
I wave as I say goodbye and start swimming away, hearing their responses behind me. I giggle happily as I do flips and twists in the water. So much has happened over the course of one day, and it all started with me getting kidnapped. I chuckle at the memorie of how Reaper had somewhat abruptly taken me under water and caught me off guard. It was then that I remembered my injuries and looked down to notice that the bandages needed to be changed. Thankfully I felt no pain except soreness, meaning that the cuts had at least healed over properly.
Surfacing in the cave, I find a larger batch of fish than before waiting for me. I greet Reaper and start to tend to my bandages. "So how did it go? I didn't expect it to take as long as it did." I start to prepare the fish, realizing I had skipped any form of lunch, and that the extra fish was Reaper's way of accounting for it. "I got side tracked by Blue pulling me to the reef so Dream could talk to me." Reaper looks to me in shock. "You met Dream!? Why would Blue even bring you to Dream in the first place?" I start a fire and begin cooking the fish, organizing the jars I had filled on natural shelves among the walls. "Only because he had seen me earlier when I saw Ink." He grumbles silently, complaining about how I should have told him before as silent giggles escape me.
