Evie's POV

"Okay remember, loud and clear!" Aunt M explains.

"Yes! Alright, alright! You've told me a thousand times already!" I say.

"I just don't want you to get stuck in Nocturn Ally again!"

"I assure you that it won't!"
"Hurry up will you?" Addy complains.

"Why are you so impatient?" Ben grumbles.
"I am not impatient. I am just excited."

"Excited to see if Charlie will be there you mean." I tease. Ben looks at both of us with a surprised look.
"Hah! It's nothing like that!" She refuses, flushing red.
But obviously it is. She's been writing to him ever since he left for Romania and thinks I doesn't know that she fancies him.
"Addy, I don't think he is going to be back from Romania anytime soon."

"Stop blabbering and get on with it!" Gran commands.

"Okay! One... two... three: The Leaky Cauldron!" I exclaim.

I'm transported to a world of darkness and land abruptly. The familiar smell of butter beer and pea soup embraces me. I wobble with the weight if my trunk and step out and I see it's not very busy. I see Tom walk towards me. Everyone thinks he is creepy because of his hunched back and his distorted features but I have come to know that he is a very sweet man. I have been coming here since I was a baby and Tom was the one who always looked after me, Ben and Addy when our parents (and grandparents) had a mission to go on. He always talked about memories with his son and how he wished he could see him more.

A lesson I learnt there was no matter how intimidating someone looks or how cruel some one is, there is always more to them than it seems.

"Good morning, Tom!" I grin.
"Good morning, Evie!"

BANG! Soot flies everywhere. "Oh! Hello there Tom!" Ben says, brushing ash off his shoulder.
"Hello, Ben!"

Crack! "Gran! The healer told you not apparate!"
"Yes. I am aware of what the healer told me Ben. The other two were just taking too long!" Gran complains.

We wait for a few minutes, chatting.

BANG! Aunt M and Addy walk out from the chimney coughing and hacking. "Great! Now everyone is here, we can go!" I jump.

"Not so fast!" Aunt M chuckles "How are you, Tom?"
"Fine, thanks Margaret." giving her a nearly-toothless grin.

"Here to do your shopping then?"
"Yes; any new sales?"

"Well, there is a prototype of the new Firebolt in the window Quality Quidditch Supplies and Flourish and Blotts are having a sale on The Monster Book of Monsters; I ordered the books on dragons for you. Romania is a great choice in my opinion. Amazing you have the chance to work there Addy." he says cheerfully. I stop breathing. A group of men walk in. "Best be off! Your room numbers are six, seven and eight. You know where you to get the keys!"

Everyone turns to me. "Your leaving for Romania?" I ask with a lump in my throat.
"Er, yes." Addy slips out.
"And you didn't tell me? All of you knew and you didn't tell me?"

"I was going to tell you Evie-"
"I'm going." I say cutting her off. I walk to where the dust bin is and tap my wand three bricks above it. The bricks spin into the archway revealing the the cobbled street of Diagon Ally.

Of course, she doesn't need my permisson to go to places. She has the right to go and work wherever she likes without my word but I just wished she'd told me in the first place.

Addy and I call eachother sisters because of how close we are. We have told eachother everything ever since we were little. It's just making me so cross that she's kept it from me and someone else had to break the news. It really is amazing that she gets to go to Romania; not everyone gets the chance to go to work with dragons. I am actually proud as a younger sister that she has gotten the opportunity.

Wait, am I mad at her or not?

"Evie! Evie!" I hear her call to me behind a crowd of shoppers ogling at the new Firebolt. I would stop and look at it with them but I have no care for heavily expensive, top-of-the-line brooms right now. I am being mad at my sister. She finally catches up with me "I forget how fast you can be sometimes." she pants. I cross my arms.

"Oh don't be like that. I was going to tell you but I was worried about how you would react."

"Hmph." I turn away to see Florean Fortescue's Ice-Crean Parlour.

"How about we talk about this over ice-cream?" she says. I raise an eyebrow.

This is the sort of request which really isn't a request at all. She orders two ice creams: chunky chocolate (my favourite) and raspberry riddle (this is just raspberry ripple replaced with riddle and I really don't understand what the change in words is supposed to do). We sit down outside on a table under an umbrella.
"Oh please speak to me Evie I've been dreaming about this job for months. It's all I want to do now that it's been sorted!"

I take a deep breath "When did you find out?"

"Two months ago."
"Two months-!" I start loudly but stop when she hushes me.

"Two months ago?" I hiss.
"Well that was when I got my letter confirming it. We actually sent one out requesting a place a month before that."
"Wow Addy," she gives me a nervous look "You really are going to Romania then."

"I knew you would understand!" she laughs.

We quickly finish our ice-creams and set off to get our supplies. It's particularly hard to get The Monster Book of Monsters in control but I quickly learn that stroking it's spine helps. Addy beams at her three, thick, books each with covers of a very detailed, illustrated dragon. It's slightly dark when we walk out of Quality Quidditch Supplies with a broom maintenance kit (for my Comet 290, which Ben bought me when he got his first paycheck, is looking a bit drab).

We get back to The Leaky Cauldron and Aunt M glows when she sees us together.
"Look, you're not upset anymore!"

"I really should be cross with you as well for not telling me," I say matter-of-factly.

"But that matter has been solved with a chocolate ice-cream." Addy finishes with a smile.

Over dinner, I learn alot of other news about Sirius Black. "They say he has killed thirteen people with one spell" Tom says "And that he is after Harry Potter."

"Which is rubbish, isn't it?" I ask.

"It could be true," he continues and lowers his voice "I shouldn't be telling you this but he nearly blew up his Aunt! Had to get two members from the Ministry to puncture and obliviate her. The Knight Bus had to pick him up when he left and bring him here. The minister was glad that he wasn't captured or hurt."

"Wait a minute, Harry is here?" I ask "Oh, Tom you should have told me earlier! Which room?"

"Eleven but-!" I quickly get up and run up the stairs
Before I knock on the door I get a pang of guilt as I haven't written to Harry all summer. I was completely distracted. Having helped with opening the chamber and brewing the Polyjuice potion with Hermione didn't even prompt me to do so!

I knock on the door and barge in. I see his black, messy hair and round glasses and hug him.

"Harry!"
