"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
– Mahatma Gandhi--------------------------------
"Dawn! Give this bucket of beer and quesadillas to table 5 and this fireball whiskey at table 3!" a woman yelled, mixing with the noise of the loud music from the speakers.
Dawn worked at a bar at night as a server, she doesn't want to rely on her account for too long, she knew it won't feed her forever.
She took the orders and handed them to their tables.
As she was nearing the table, the men there were eyeing her, and Dawn becomes highly uncomfortable at their stares.
The group consisted of four men, they were whispering things to each other while checking Dawn out. Sometimes men like them happen but security gets to them before they can do anything stupid.
"Here are the beers and food, and do you guys need anything else?" Dawn tried to keep her smile, knowing the guys were staring at her body from head to toe.
"Yes, we would like you miss," a guy said, "Nice one Cole" a guy snickered.
"If you don't need anything else. I have more customers to attend to" Dawn turned around from the table and got to the next table.
As she got near table 3 she put down the guy's order, a fireball whiskey, it has cinnamon and tabasco sauce in it which is really strong.
"Here's your fireball whiskey sir, and do you like anyth-" she stopped as she saw Aron's face.
"What are you doing here?" she shouted in a whisper, sitting down in front of him,
"I thought you're injured? Yet here you are, hanging out in a bar"
"How about you? Why are you here?" he replied,
"What do you mean? I work here"
Aron was about to reply but a stranger interrupted him.
"You don't wanna sit with me, but you hang around with this guy?"
It was Cole from earlier, a very wasted Cole.
"Excuse me?" Dawn brows furrowed,
"Come on babe, what did he do to make you sit here?" he snorted, slurring.
"How about we go to my table and have some fun?" Cole grabbed Dawn's elbow forcing her to go to their table instead,
"Get your filthy hands off her"
Dawn turned around to see Aron, he took a sip of his drink and looked at Cole's direction.
"Or what old man?" Cole said, making Aron pissed.
Cole's buddies got up to have their friends back, and for some reason, the security was nowhere to be found.
Dawn never got involved in fights, well... until now.
Cole brought his beer and drank it, laughing as he said, "You wanna fight, old man?"
Gasps were heard all around the bar as Cole dumped the beer on Aron's head,
Every drop of the beer dripped on Aron's head, and as usual, Aron has his calm poker face.
Aron wiped the liquid off his face with his hands and flicked the alcohol off his hands.
"You don't have a drink anymore, here take mine" Aron reached for his fireball whiskey and splashed the drink to Cole's eyes, and after a few seconds, everything was a blur.
One minute, Cole was shouting as the liquor burned his eyes,
the next minute Cole laid flat on the ground. The two other guys backed off, while a guy grabbed an object, a bat.
The guy sprinted to Aron and swung real hard, aiming for the head. But as the bat was about 2 meters away, Aron caught the bat, while tossing a right hook directly at the guy's stomach. The guy literally flew across the room.
What kind of strength does he possess?!
The two other guys got scared and immediately helped their buddies and left the bar.
Aron turned around to look at Dawn, and Dawn was looking at him astonished. Aron grabbed Dawn hand and led her outside,
"Excuse me! Where do you think your taking her? She still on her shift!" Dawn's manager David, yelled,
"Here" Aron threw his wallet at David and said, "She's not on her shift anymore".
He dragged her out of the bar into a near alley,
"Why did you give your wallet?!" Dawn said withdrawing her hand,
Aron did not answer. He stared at her hand, missing the warmth it brings to his.
Not getting anywhere, Dawn sighed.
"Are you hurt?" She asked worried,
"No" he bluntly said.
As Dawn sighed again, a voice came out from nowhere,
"Well. well. well," a figure I cannot see talked as shadows covered him,
"The beast, out in the night... with, a lovely rose" he spoke,
"Who are you?" Dawn asked,
"The name's Jaxon" he winked,
"and Aron, I believe you have recently beaten two of my members," he said with a malicious look.
"I have done nothing but defend her and myself" Aron calmly said, but with a sharper tone hinting a bit of anger.
"Of course. I apologize on behalf of my gang. But next time, whatever reason it may be, you shall bear the punishment" Jaxon warned.
"Try your fucking best," Aron remarked, and Jaxon laughed.
"Of course. Well, I bid you farewell, and the next time we meet, I won't be too friendly" Jaxon last said before he left.
"I don't know what this is all about but, whatever it is, I'm not gonna be part of it, have a good night, Aron," Dawn said,
"Fuck you!" her head snapped to where the voice was and saw a man running towards her, she couldn't move, her body couldn't function, 'Shit' she saw the man holding a small knife, she closed her eyes and braced for impact.
Five seconds,
eight seconds,
ten seconds...
She waited to feel the pain, but it never happened.
She opened her eyes and saw Aron in front of her, holding the guy up, the man's feet hovering above, and Aron's other hand holding the knife.
"Who sent you?" Aron spatted, his anger visible.
"N-no one!" the man yelled, trying to break free from Aron's grip.
"I will cut your fucking tongue if you'll remain silent" Aron threatened, and the man's eyes widen, afraid.
"The Vipers sent me! Please let me go!" the man begged,
"Cowards" Aron toss the man to the side. The man ran as fast as his legs could until he vanished from Aron's sight.
"You" Aron looked at Dawn, Dawn began to be nervous,
'he's a dangerous man', she thought.
"You're coming with me."
