"What are you doing?" Edmond fidgeted as Peggy draped some sort of clothing -maybe a jacket?- over Edmond's shoulders.
Peggy winked as she tied the light gray and relatively worn sleeves so that the jacket would stay around his shoulders (like Patton's cardigan). "Giving you a cape, obviously."
Piña bounced in place excitedly. "Look at you- you're like, Super Edmond!"
Pulling away from his sister, Edmond wrinkled his nose at the name. "First off, no. And second, why the 'cape'?"
The other twin smiled and dodged his question again. "Because you're my hero."
Both siblings finished the quote, clapping their hands with every syllable. "We get it, you're adorable!"
The emo shrugged, trying to get used to the weight of the clothing upon his shoulders. "But where'd you even get this?" As far as Edmond knew, he didn't have a gray jacket, or a hoodie like Evan's...
A hoodie like Evan's. Exactly like Evan's.
Edmond's eyes widened at the realization. "Peggy!"
Candlestick ran in through the door, hair slightly smoking and covered in some sort of white foam. "Mission complete!" Song followed soon after, also covered in extinguisher foam.
"Peggy!" Edmond struggled to untie the knotted sleeves. "Evan can't- I can't-"
Song swept over and swiftly undid the tied knot of fabric. "Evan can't see you like this? That's absolutely right."
Peggy pulled Edmond's navy blue jacket off of him as Edmond's hands seemed to have a mind of their own and pulled the light gray hoodie -Evan's hoodie- over his white shirt.
"What if he gets mad at me?" Edmond buried his face in the fabric to hide his growing blush. The fabric smelled faintly of fresh air, coffee, and smoke- just like Evan. Not that Edmond knew what Evan smelled like. Totally. That would be weird, and only couples in those cliche young adult romance novels knew what other people other than maybe their siblings or parents or various family members smelled like. And just because Edmond knew what Evan smelled like because there had been several instances where the two were hugging (or touching but not in a weird way of course) didn't mean that they were a couple or anything, right?
Peggy waved her hand in front of Edmond's face, snapping him out of his strange thoughts. "Stop overthinking, brother dear; you're giving me a headache."
Candlestick piped up. "And there's no way he'll be mad at you-"
"-he's already mad at us." Song brushed herself off, although the foam just got moved around and not much else happened. "Actually, I believe most of his anger is currently being sent in my direction. I am the one who conjured his hoodie off in the middle of class, when he wasn't wearing a shirt under it."
Piña sent an eyebrow wiggle towards Edmond's direction and the latter scowled, unable to hide his (very) flushed cheeks. He pulled the hood of Evan's sweatshirt over his face. "Shut up."
"I never said anything."
Unable to bite back a witty retort, the blond opened his mouth-
-just as Evan ran into the White Room (thankfully, wearing a white collared shirt with the top few spots unbuttoned). Looking frazzled and tired, he ran a hand through his messy hair as he looked around the room. His eyes seemed to barely register the girls as they swept around the room before they finally landed on Edmond. Green and blue met navy as Evan strode over to Edmond with an unreadable expression on his face. The two boys stood face to face -er, face to chin- and Edmond had to crane his neck to look up at Evan. He silently cursed as the hood fell over his eyes, trying (and failing) to shake it off before looking back up at the taller boy.
"I swear, it wasn't-"
A hand reached out to gently tug on the hoodie strings. Evan smiled -genuinely smiled, something he almost never did- and pulled the hood off of Edmond's head. "Keep that off, please."
He barely glanced in the direction of the others before he leaned down and smirked. "I like seeing your face." He straightened back up, leaving Edmond completely speechless.
Evan turned as if to leave, pushing his hands into his pockets, but swiveling around to face Edmond again as if he had forgotten something. "Especially your eyes. And when you smile."
Edmond reflexively grinned, but hid his face again when Evan nodded. "See, like that!"
"I hate you," the shorter boy complained as he walked closer to Evan. The movements hardly registered until he stood right in front of the other, once again having to tilt his head back to look into Evan's eyes.
Having Evan in such close proximity made Edmond's head spin sometimes. He was as unpredictable as it got; what would he do next? Kiss him? Hug him? Make an insulting and unoriginal comment about Edmond's height?
"Why not all three?" Evan asked aloud. Edmond jumped as Evan chuckled. "Your thoughts were pretty loud just then- it's like you were directly speaking into my mind, shortie."
"Shut up," Edmond breathed as Evan embraced him and gently pressed his lips to Edmond's own, just like Edmond knew he would.
