It wasn't long before Giovanna was back in the safe haven of her hotel room and was sitting on top of the bed. She still couldn't believe what she had done. Luciano would probably kill her the chance he gets. It wouldn't be a very peaceful death either. She shuddered at the thought. Anyone who messed with Luciano winded up a dead man and the dead man now was her. She was screwed because not only did she steal from him but she also hit him in the head with a burning frying pan. It wasn't like her big brothers Afonso and Andres would save her, she was only a punching bag born for their amusement.
She stared at the necklace that was clutched in both her hands. Why would Andres send her to steal a necklace of all things from Luciano? What made it so important anyways? It was just a stupid pretty necklace. Was it worth risking her life over it? She put the necklace into the nightstand drawer, not wanting to lose it.
She stood up with a sigh and walked to the wall and rested both her fists and head against the wall. There was no way out of this, if she gave the necklace to Andres, Luciano would kill her and if she gave the necklace to Luciano, Andres would kill her. No matter what option she chose she would still end up getting killed. She took deep breaths, trying to calm herself down but it wasn't working very well.
Giovanna turned around only to be met with a knife hitting the wall beside her head, cutting her right cheek. She could feel the blood falling down her cheek from the cut.
"H-ho-how d-did you get i-in here?" She asked, mentally beating herself up for stuttering. Andres had told her time and time again that stuttering was a sign of weakness.
"I-a have my-a ways, monello." The Italian man slowly walked toward the small girl with a calm expression on his face. "Now be a good ragazza and give me-a what I want-a."
She couldn't move her legs. No matter how much she wanted to move, she just couldn't; it was like her body was completely paralysed. Her heart was beating fast and loud. Now, they were face to face. Luciano crouched down a little, due to the girl's short height and held each of her arms beside her head against the wall.
"W-what if I-I d-don't?"
He just smiled and simply said, "Then I will-a kill-a you."
"I-it's in t-the nightstand d-drawer." She felt pathetic for giving in so easily.
The answer seemed to be good enough for Luciano because he let go of the girl and grabbed the necklace out of the drawer. After saying "Arriverderci." The man was gone, leaving the girl with many questions.
Giovanna slid down against the wall, her heart still racing. Her legs were pulled to her chest and she tried to calm down her breathing. How was she going to explain this to Andres? While keeping her life intact.
